  • Absolutely delighted!
Color: Portal
We bought Perplexus Portal and my son is absolutely delighted! This is not his first ball and he says that this is the best. He says that there are portal pipes, which are not in other versions of the balls. There are also very cool buttons that rebuild the path. My son is 11 years old and said - an excellent puzzle! And it is very cool that there are 150 moves and three levels. ... show more

  • Perplexus Epic and Go Spin
Color: Epic
I bought the Epic as a Christmas present for one of my kids. They love it but the only complaint I have is the purple tunnel in the middle of the maze does not work. Must have a spot where the plastic wasn’t checked for blockage. When the ball drops in the funnel it won’t go past the second bend and falls out when I try to jiggle it through. The only way I was able to complete the maze was by jumping the ball into spots after the tunnel obstacle so I could complete it all the way. Overall it’s really fun and well designed. Not really for small children the Epic is better suited for kids 10 and up. I would get the Go Spin maze or Rebel if you’re gearing at a gift for kids younger than that. I got the Go Spin for my kid after finding the defective part in the Epic, and they love it. ... show more

  • Challenging
Color: Portal
I bought this for my 7-year-old son who loves mazes. His friend has a different type of maze ball and he's always playing with it so I thought he would enjoy this one. My husband and 7-year-old both enjoy this maze ball. It's more challenging than it looks! My husband and son will challenge each other to see who can get farther in the maze before the ball drops off. They both have had hours of fun trying to beat the maze. It's about the size of a basketball and seems to be very nice quality. ... show more

  • Fun and challenging, and terrific customer service!
Color: Portal
I own several Perplexuses and couldn't wait to give this a try! It was fun and challenging, and the spring-loaded "portals" added a unique element. Until, that is, I discovered one of the portal mechanisms wouldn't retract fully, and the ball did not have clearance to proceed to the next obstacle. I contacted Spin Master customer service, provided a picture of the stuck ball, and in less than a week I had a new Perplexus Portal, free of charge, and am happily navigating the rest of the maze! ... show more

  • Great puzzle for anyone!
Color: Epic
I had the original and had forgotten about it for years, but started playing it again recently. With any version of these part of the challenge is learning when to go fast and when to go slow and tilting your best angles. These weren't made to be easy. They're meant to be challenging! People who say in their reviews the puzzles cannot be done are incorrect and evidently lack patience. If you have no patience this is probably not a good choice unless you're buying it to try to learn some patience. Concentration is more important than dexterity imo... On the original, I had the hardest time going from 30-31. Took practice. Now it's super easy on that part. I had to keep trying over and over. Some of this is rote...you will memorize movements and breeze through parts. So if you're having a hard time watch a how to video or just keep trying. There are easy paths and some very tedious paths. You'll eventually get it. Quality. Well it looks beautiful. It is larger than the original which is now called the Beast. It has a very clear plastic outer shell with no branding written on it like the original...that got in the way sometimes. BUT I can tell the outer shell is NOT as thick or sturdy as the 2009 one. I'm an adult so I don't see it being a problem but I like the quality feel of the older one a lot better. NOTE: don't throw away your stand. There is a flimsy little stand inside the bottom part of the packaging. It's great for keeping it from rolling around getting little scratches when not in use. ... show more
