Full disclosure I love hot spicy food. I grow my own peppers each summer, including some of the hottest in the world (Carolina Reapers, Chocolate Habanero, Trini Scorpions, 7 Pot, etc). I also make my own hot sauces and use them on a daily basis. I eat a lot of hot sauce, every day. My tolerance is above average but not insane, I do not enter pepper eating contests. But based on what my friends say I have a fairly high tolerance for pepper heat. This jerky is HOT! Not every piece though. The first piece I ate I thought, well, its spicy but not too hot, I guess all the reviews were right. Then I ate another piece and got about two bites in before I had to stop. So it can vary on the level of heat from piece to piece. All that being said, the flavor and texture are great. Typical of their other flavors/styles. Not quite as dry as the Carne Seca nor as moist as the Ginger Teriyaki. But a great mix of the two. Have I said this stuff is hot. Yes I know some people out there who have wax coated mouths will say it is not that hot. But for normal people this is way hot and even for people with above average tolerance you still may find this hotter than you want. But they make no secret about the heat, so don't be surprised. ... show more

I'm a big fan of People's Choice jerky, of which I've purchased their original and hot/spicy varieties several times. Both are great. But, I'm a big heat fan, and while the hot/spicy version is tasty, it didn't have the reaper heat that I've come to love. Which is why I decided to try the Nashville hot variety. And well, it's just outstanding. I should note that I like firm jerky, and this is softer, yet not nearly as soft as some other companies make. The important thing is that the flavor is outrageous. It starts with forward pepper, and doesn't seem especially "hot". This soon changes to spicy sweetness, similar in heat to the hot/spicy version (yet more flavorful), and then the real heat comes as a lingering finish that just doesn't quit. I actually felt perspiration from the piece I ate, which is rare for me since I grow and eat habaneros and ghost pepper chilies. Of course this jerky isn't for those who like "a little" heat, but it will please those who have crave the burn. Well done! ... show more

To start things off, let's talk about value & quality. You DEFINITELY get your money's worth here. For a pound of jerky, this is an extremely reasonable price. The texture of the jerky is a nice midway between the dryer texture, and moist jerky. I personally don't like jerky that favors either side too heavily, so this middle ground is my "Target Area" when searching for new favorites. The cuts aren't super fatty, and overall I'm giving it a 5/5 on the quality. Now let's move on to the flavor, Nashville Hot. The first piece I got was great. Not too hot, but enough kick for me to notice it, again, this is my "Target are" when going for any jerky that claims heat. The second piece however..2 bottles of water, and a bottle of 2% milk later and I STILL felt the burn. So, I'd say the seasoning intensity is a little inconsistent. This by NO means kills it though, just be prepared to feel more heat at some point. Flavor gets a 4/5 All in all, I'd absolutely recommend this jerky. If the quality here is any indication of this company's product as a whole, then they've earned themselves a new customer. Excited to try the other flavors! P.S. - Currently writing this review from the John, and can confirm, the heat coming out is a LOT more consistent🔥🔥 ... show more

- In a modern Machine Shop - A co-worker WOO'd most of us with some "Cajun Fried Peanuts". . . . They are very delicious and have an ample "KICK" to them ! Then another co-worker, (who, along with others, is on a KETO diet !), challenged the Peanuts with Peoples Choice "Hot & Spicy" Jerky, (Keto friendly, all healthy stuff!), and mostly everyone, (except the older patrons who wouldn't even try something that's considered to be made healthy!).... then, I wanted a bag of this Jerky for myself. I went to order it, and saw .... "Only 1 Left" ... Nashville Hot !... I tried it and Loved it ! ... It has the serious "KICK" we like, while still having a more tender texture, and after the nice heat flavor, it still has the quality beef flavor !! I took the 1 lb. bag to work with some sandwich bags. It was gone within an hour! Some of the Deer Hunters who make Deer Jerky were skeptical, but after the taste test, ...EVERYONE wanted more! & asked how to get it !.... The Keto diet guy even said "well, this jerky is still lean & natural, so I'm gonna get that too!" So I can say, it was the "Co-workers Choice" It won by Knockout !.... The spicy peanuts are great!, but most men usually choose the Great American Beef!! I suppose they had many people choose it over the others !.... So I see it is the "Peoples Choice" ! Its premium grade, USDA approved, and the flavors are unique.!! A 1 lb bag is a BIG bag !... Try it ! .... ... show more

I purchased this one due to the first time i bought hot and spicy decieded to go with nashville hot and do not like it because the texture of the beef jerkey is different from my first purchase. Its fresh bit not wht i expected as i like a tougher jerky and nashville hot is not it .
