I understood the description to say some assembly required -- meaning I'd have to join the two pieces to make a level shelf. However, as with every piece of furniture ever invented, full assembly of 8 different pieces of wood is required. On the plus side, the holes are pre-drilled and the screwdriver is provided. Pretty simple. Just disappointed that I had to do it. Looks great in my space though.

I'm a little confused because the product I received (definitely this same product, according to my Amazon orders) is a different shape/layout. What I got is two "H" shapes, each with one vertical side of the "H" being taller than the other. The two "H's" rest on each other, with the shorter side of each on the inside, and are slightly adjustable, width-wise. So it's a different configuration than what the ad shows, but it works great and I'm happy with it. The assembly was SUPER simple, less than 5 minutes. And I love the two-headed screw driver they sent! That's a keeper. My desk is slightly cherry and the shelf is definitely brown, but blends beautifully.

The edges don't line up, one board arrived damaged,, I wasn't given enough screws to put the thing together, and the instructions are a joke, make no sense, and look like they were printed from a 2003 Nokia. I don't know what the yellow thing in the instructions is, but I never received it. The box it arrived in also had no sides to it. Just Styrofoam taped to some top box flaps and I did receive a damaged piece.

The length is shorter than described. Not sturdy at all. One of my screws split the wood, thankfully I had glue. This should be $7-$10 product, that's including the importing of this mass produced product. My set came in very scratched and the side panels to the very loose and crumbly MDF are longer than the board itself so it is peeling already. I just set it up today. I don't want to take the trouble to take photos. It's bad, unless you don't care about the look or plan on peeling, patching and painting it anyways.... Just don't buy this. Not worth the headache. Really take a good look at the first photo, like close look. It won't be far off. Also the little screwdriver that came with it stripped the first screw AND itself half way in. Maybe I had back luck, but I feel like I got shafted.

UPDATE: I have to come back an knock a star off my review. I purchased a second shelf and it arrived in kinda rough shape. There was dried wood glue all over the box and shelf pieces. The boards did not line up as my first shelf did. Overall the quality of as just diminished. I got the thing put together and cleaned up for the most part, but that kind of sloppiness is just not acceptable and I feel that I need to share that experience with those who may buy this. Now I’m off to go vacuum stringy crap off my floor from this thing. ORIGINAL REVIEW: First of all this is a cheapo shelf set made of pressed board and laminate. The directions are front and back of a 3x5 card sized piece of paper. Those instructions are quite incomplete, but you can get the job done by looking at them and the finished product. So why the 4 stars? Because for the cost, this desktop shelf does a great job. It’s holds everything I put on it and is sturdy enough for my purpose. If you dropped 20 clams thinking you were gonna get some pocket hole screwed all hardwood construction shelf ... yeahno. For the price I find the product quite good. I appreciate the value and the functionality.

Assembly took forever with the garbage screw driver they supply. The shelves aren’t even screwed together they just sit on top of each other and slide around. Can’t believe I wasted money and got 2 of them. Only plus is that they look cute but if you actually use it to put stuff on, they will move as soon as you touch it.

My desk was a mess and I wanted to tidy up. Found this bad boy and lemme tell ya, it's perfect! For being so affordable, it is very sturdy. It took me about 15 minutes, maybe a little less to put it together and now all my things are organized neatly :) I love that it is adjustable! I can change it to have wider or smaller spaces as my organizational needs change and that makes me happy. It is like an organizer's buffet! Will suggest to anyone who will listen:)

So far so good! I just assembled it and it wasn’t difficult at all like other reviews mentioned. You just have to screw the panels together and they provide a pretty nice screwdriver as well. I like to keep a lot of little things within reach at my desk, chap stick, vitamins, glasses cleaner ect and I don’t have any drawers or storage so this is perfect for organizing all those little things and my note/sketchbooks which are usually scattered all over. Looks great too! The only thing I would say is maybe if they provided little adhesive grip pads to secure the two pieces together so they don’t slide so easily. but I can just add those myself.
