I ordered this touch for crafting and I need to be able to adjust the flame to the lowest setting. Unfortunately, the flame adjuster is not working and this torch only works when I have the flame at a higher setting resulting in burning my project. I have four of this type of torch. The purple is my favorite. They're all well made. The colors are vibrant and the fit and finish are exceptional for something this affordable. The adjustment mechanisms are a bit inconsistent between them but they all work. I've had these for over a year but only use them a couple of times a week. They all still work and refill fine. These are not your old style cigarette lighters. They're torches and they are so much better; more powerful, much hotter, with greater control. It may take some time to get used to them. The media could not be loaded. Just don't waste your money.. The reviews left me feeling hopeful ... I bought this for a very specific purpose and it's just not worth it. I am a Beekeeper, so I have to keep a smoker lit and I hate those standard grill lighters that are disposable, it just feels wasteful. I use a butane lighter at work every day and I thought that would be a great solution for me, I coupd refill it and it has a powerful flame that should be able to light the kindling easily in one go. This butane lighter is just NOT up to the task. At first it was okay.... the flame would light maybe every 1 of 3 tries , now, its barely able to manage lighting every 1 in 10 tries. Once it DOES light, almost every time I turn it to light my smoker, it goes out immediately. It's just not powerful enough even turned all the way up. So, that leaves me standing there in the middle of a bunch of pissy bees trying to relight my smoker.. Not ideal. I do hive inspections every 7-10 days, so I haven't used it a bunch so I haven't worn it out with use (which wouldn't be a good excuse anyways). I still think a butane lighter would be perfect for my needs and I like the style of this one being slim it fits well in my bee bag, but find another one! This one is terrible. ... show more

This is a good torch except the amount of time it takes to light. Whether ful or half empty, it takes a few clicks to start! The problem, it wastes the flint having to click so much!

I wrote a review earlier and disliked this item. I could not get it to work. I read some of the tips and the one that after filling it up knock the bottom on something solid and couple of times and wait for it to warm up and it works great now. Been using it all the time.
