  • Super happy with these
Color: Neptune
We bought these for Florida River paddling and so we can take our dog-a cardigan corgi- with us. They are lighter than a lot of the kayaks in this size range and the seat is very comfortable and supportive as well as easy to adjust. There is a lot of storage in the back of the kayak and bungee cords that do a good job of holding everything so it doesn't slip around. We can pack a lot into these kayaks too-my record is me, dog, cooler, 2 backpacks, a sifter, and a shovel! And there was room for another bag if i wanted it. The non-slip pad in the bow as well as the open pad area is perfect for our dog to ride (and occasionally jump out) while we are paddling. They are pretty sturdy overall and I prefer the sit on top style of kayak (I have a fear of spiders making a nest inside of the sit inside kayaks where I can't see it) so these have been great! ... show more

  • Like a lot for our use
Color: Night Wave
We had heavier Kayaks, got to heavy for my wife and I to put on top of the car, and then carry to the lakes. We only do lakes in fair weather. So for us the weight and size works well. They track well enough for our needs. They feel steady, and do not feel like they would tip easily. Wish the cup holder was a little deeper, it is not worth much, minor issue. ... show more

  • Great boat for the price
I bought this kayak to replace a Lifetime sit on that I had grown beyond. I wanted to start carrying more gear so I sought out a higher weight capacity. When sitting in the Pelican, you can reach forward to the bungee area and back to the bungee area behind and it doesn't shake or tilt the kayak. I store a cooler in the back and water bottle in the front, so reaching for these while on the water happens every trip out, and I have had no issues. One thing I was not entirely happy with was that only one side of the boat has the carrying handle divot for solo carrying the boat on its side. This does not come with a paddle, but I got an orange Pelican paddle to match in a different order and they look good together on the water. ... show more

  • Great Kayak for Relaxing
Color: Neptune
I have tried a few kayaks so far. This one is the most comfortable of them. The first one was an inflatable with no foot support, the other two were folding kayaks which were more portable than the Pelican but had minimal support on the foot rests (theirs tended to move around so were less stable.) The Pelican Sentinel 100X's foot rests are much more stable. Still not perfect, but then again, my feet are not perfect, so short of getting new feet, the Pelican's foot rests will do. The seat is similar to both of the folding kayaks I had. Not great padding and minimal back support, but the Pelican holds up my mid-back slightly better than any of the other kayaks I tried. If you are a DIY'er you could switch out the seat for something more substantial. This kayak maneuvers decently but not amazing. For the price point I am not disappointed. It moves through the water fairly easily with not too much effort. It's lightweight enough that I can get it on and off the roof of my car without help. I do wish it had more grip points. It is a little awkward with only one grip point on each side. I can grab one of the scupper holes to aid in carrying it but it's not ideal. If you aren't right next to the water you might want to get a kayak cart so you can wheel it or have someone help you. Even if you are by the water, it would be better to have someone help you so you can save your energy for the actual fun part. Overall I am glad I purchased this item and recommend it for leisurely kayaking. Cheers. ... show more

  • Great value; Minor issues w/cheap solutions
Color: Neptune
I LOVE this kayak, so had to include a picture of my happy face. Been looking for a great affordable kayak with all the basic features I wanted, but stock is low everywhere because of COVID-19. As soon as this came available I gobbled it up quickly before it sold out again. It came quickly, it cruises like a dream, I love the storage container, and bonus that it came with bungee cords. It’s very stable, went over some minor rocky rapids and I never took on water and my open drink in the shallow cup holder never spilled. The only gripe I have is the position of the seat. Though the padding was great as well as the adjustment features, my tail bone rested on the hard plastic of the kayak which made it tender after a few hours. Easy fix though, I’ll just sit on a towel for cushion, or eventually replace the seat. I also added handles/cleats so we had a place to run ropes through when mounting the kayak to the car. ... show more

  • Perfect stability for larger dogs
Color: Neptune
The Pelican Sentinel X100 was rated in the top 10 stable kayaks for dogs. It’s floor pad keeps our adult Boxer from slipping around the boat. Plus when we take a trip around the lake, the boat can heat up on a sunny day. But or dog doesn’t have to worry about that since it’s padded. It is easy to get around in and lightweight but still does not easily tip over. I am able to get in and out of the boat in water about mid-thigh deep without dumping my pup in. And my pooch can maneuver (very clumsily in the beginning) without tipping us over. The bungee straps on all 4 sides provide plenty of places to clip miscellaneous items such as flip flops or our dogs water bowl, just in case we need that extra security. The extra “trunk” compartment that comes with it is not waterproof but I love it. I keep my phone & keys in a waterproof pouch that I put inside the compartment. I do wish they could’ve done something different with gripping a wet boat to load it up. But I just bought some waterproof stair tread & put it where I needed some grip. And the seat doesn’t have anything to clip it down if transporting on top of your car. I just use bungee cords. I would absolutely suggest purchasing this kayak! It has given us so much enjoyment. ... show more

  • Light and comfortable with lots of space.
Color: Neptune
Love this kayak. Lighter and comfortable. Compartment holds towels etc which can be easily reached when out on the water. Feels stable, easy to get in and out. Took a little while to get it, but friends who also purchased one got it quickly. Would buy another one for sure.
