This phone case is built with good quality and will keep your phone protected from most day to day activities. I work as a lineman and constantly out working in harsh conditions, I’ve ran this case for a month now and no issues at all, my phone even fell from a bucket truck about 18ft over a road. The case fits the phone well. There is a large lip on the back of the case which protects it from falls, this is what saved my phone when it fell. The hinge around the camera is a great feature, I had the same feature on my last phone case and I use it often to help prop the phone up. Originally I thought this case was a bit overpriced, however, after putting it through some serious real life application, I’ve really grown to enjoy this case. Well designed and has zero interference with any of the buttons, microphone or speakers. It protected my phone through several drops, even on to hard flooring and asphalt. The only ding it gets from me is the belt clip broke fairly easily after it got snagged on something and I had to buy a whole other case to replace it. I bought this to use immediately while my dbrand case was being prepared and sent (took about two weeks). I trust the Pelican brand completely since I'm a photographer and have used Pelican cases for over a decade. That said, I didn't notice the same level of craftsmanship in this phone case that I see in my large camera cases (the ones that look more like luggage, not a case for an individual item). The good: 1. At least until the case loosens with a lot of use, I don't doubt the 24-foot drop speculation. I don't ever foresee myself dropping my phone anywhere close to 24 feet, but there is a lot of extra protection. I felt that my phone was very protected for the two weeks it was inside this case. 2. Built in stand that is solid. My last phone case had a built in stand that popped out, but also popped back in when in-use, so that was frustrating. To use the built-in stand, you have to have the belt clasp holder attached to the phone. The case is already quite large, and with the belt clasp holder attached to the case, it starts to feel ridiculous (to me), BUT the built-in stand is sturdy and works well. It takes a couple of times to get the hang of releasing the stand so it goes back to belt clip mode (it's easy, just a little sticky). In this mode, it feels like a case designed for a contractor or construction worker, and I wondered if such persons would enjoy the stand feature. Maybe they watch tv during a break? I couldn't figure that out, but I'm happy for whoever this is for. 3. Camera/back holes: They align perfectly. Bonus: If you use the belt clip, it covers the lenses to give some protection against scratches. That's me thinking like a photographer, though, and I wondered if the person using the belt clip actually cares at all about scratches on the camera lenses. Note that the camera control button is simply a contoured hole in the case -- this is actually a bonus since you have to find it and press down with gentle force to get the camera control to work. I write this because my dbrand case has its own custom camera control case that is flush with the case. I constantly accidentally hit it and open the camera. I turned on the option to hit it twice in order to activate the camera, but I still accidentally activate the camera at times. It's fine, and while I know most people hate the camera control button, I love it for when I want to take a quick photo. The bad: The fit: It fits a tad loose, though fits the phone snuggly at least at first. I don't doubt the reviews that hate this case though, the ones that say after three months, the phone is so loose that it slips out on its own. I can't verify that, but it's easy to see especially if you remove/re-attach the case often. Also, the front edges of the phone can be seen on the edge of the case. It doesn't look good, though that's an aesthetic preference. It makes the pro feel like a pro max: If you need 24-feet of drop protection, then you're probably fine with this. But if you aren't going to launch your phone from your roof to your driveway, you may get annoyed at how thick and bulky the case is. It made the phone feel much larger than it is, and I was relieved after two weeks to switch to my dbrand case that fit the phone like a glove. Surprisingly weak magnets: I have the Pelican wallet and love it. It fits onto my dbrand case with force that seems somewhat amazing. While the Pelican wallet fits perfectly into the back of the case, it slides some when touched. The back of the case has small ridges that keep it from falling off, but the wallet often dislodged when pulling my phone from my pants pocket. Maybe it doesn't do this with the belt-clip, but I would worry that the wallet could very easily fall off using the belt clip. Can't verify that either, but it struck me as weird that Pelican didn't use stronger magnets here. My dbrand case's magnets must be at least four times as strong (rough guess). It feels clunky. This goes along with the fit, but overall, it doesn't feel like a premium experience. I love my other Pelican products, which makes me think that these cases are designed by a different department. They just don't have the precision that I'm used to with Pelican. Overall: It worked great as a temporary case. I would never want to use this as my everyday case. I have used it twice for the stand feature, but it was honestly a huge pain to swap cases and then attach the belt clip to use the stand. If you are going to throw your phone from a bridge or something like that, this case seems like it would be perfect, at least before it loosens. Also, maybe it doesn't loosen if you just leave the case on (like I do with every case before this one). I removed this case every day because it was so bulky -- it's easier to use the phone without this bulky case around it. That said, the case is not awful. It's a solid three stars.
