I was using a 60 lb 12 ft kayak that was difficult for me to transport alone and wanted something smaller and lighter. This kayak fits the bill, however it arrived with a broken handle cord and is missing two plugs in the bottom of the kayak that I didn't notice until after I used it and wondered why there was more water inside than expected from normal drip off the paddle. When I tried calling the customer service number posted on this site, I spoke with someone who said they were not the Pelican company that makes kayaks - hmm. Also, the kayak lacks handles or fasteners for tying down the kayak. I am too short to use roof racks so use a bed extender that attaches to a trailer hitch so I can transport in my hatchback with the boat resting on the extender supports. The only option was to run a strap through the handle on the front of the boat which kept it on the rack but not stabilized and it slid around during transport. I had to stop a few times to insure it was secure enough to continue. Overall I like the size and lightweight of the item and it handled pretty well in the water ... show more

I like this kayak its lightweight and has quite a bit of storage space and room to sit I bought this and a sit on top in the winter because it's cheaper than the summer pelican makes nice kayaks if your needing a kayak this one is really good for the price 🤷🏻♂️😁

This kayak is super lightweight, easy to carry and pretty stable on the water. The seat is pretty comfortable as well. My only complaint so far, after only using it twice, is the tracking is awful. I would say this particular Pelican model is best suited for lakes or bodies of water with little to no current. Just paddled down a river with it and even where the water wasn't choppy, it would start to turn to the left or right almost as soon as I stopped paddling so I couldn't just pleasantly "float" down the river a ways without getting turned around. Overall, this is a decent kayak. Just not recommended for river paddling. ... show more

I did a lot of research to find a kayak I could lift and carry by myself, as well as hoist into the back of my car without any help. It is only 36 pounds, and it handles great on the water. I wish the compartment in the front was a true deep storage area instead of a smallish round place to keep a few things, but it's really not a deal breaker for me. The main thing is to be able to get out on the water whenever I want to, without needing to find help lugging around a heavier boat. I have only had it out a few times, and I'm really happy with it. I was out on a windy, choppy day and it was wonderful, very comfortable, and tracks pretty straight. I know a heavier, longer craft would probably tack easier, but this is the kayak I needed for more opportunities for independent paddling on a moment's notice. sits well in the water, the foot pegs are molded into the sides, which may cause problems if they aren't at the right settings for you, but they just happen to be perfect for me to either have my knees up or legs straight. I have never owned a kayak before, but I love this one. I am an older individual and have had five back surgeries, this is fairly easy to get in, and I fell getting out, but that one’s on me. 😂 As far as the kayaking goes, I love it! It was a good value, with all of the accessories I paid around $400, I highly recommend it. Of course if you don’t like getting in water, don’t buy one. 😂😂😂😎 ... show more
