I use Pelican cases for everything, have most of the various size cases. Find that the 1450 is the size case I use the most. These cases will survive a nuke. The Protector Series cases offer the most protection out of all the Pelican cases. Throw 40 Gram Silica Gel Dehumidifier Desiccant Canister into the case and you're good to go with no worries about moisture or anything else ruining what's inside. I use a label maker to label all my cases so I know what's inside without having to open it. I never use a label on any case that will go on a plane or any form of public transportation, less chance of theft. As an example I have one case dedicated to NBC Nuclear/Biological/Chemical) items, another dedicated to portable ham radios, another as a first aid kit, another for AR bolt carriers and spare parts, another for charging handles and gas blocks, another for NVG gear........list goes on

This is the second one of these cases I've purchased. The first one I bought was black and of the same specs for my camera equipment, about $3,000. I bought the second one, yellow, to protect a drone I purchased, about $1,200. I have not put these cases to any abuse. I have not gotten them wet or thrown them around but they certainly appear to be as advertised. I have confidence in the quality and durability of these cases. The latches, handle and hinges seem nice and sturdy. The pick and pluck foam is fairly easy to "mold" to your needs. The foam is about five inches or so in depth, depending on whitch case you buy. It is about 1/2 inch square and "tacked" together throughout. Open your case. Lay out your items on the surface of the foam. Adjust where you would like your items to lay in the case once your foam is cut. I used a butter knife to "carve" around my items once layed out. The knife will break the "tacking" of the foam material. Be gentle and take your time to get it right. Once you have "carved" around your item and broken the "tacking", remove the foam cut out with your hand, making sure that all of the tacking is loose around your item profile. Lay your cut out and item next to one another on a table, this is so you can get your height measurement. Take a sharp knife or scissor and trim off the excess foam for height/depth, be careful not to cut yourself. Take the foam that you cut and place it back in the hole you removed it from. Your item should now fit snugly in the cut out. Rinse and repeat for your other items that you want in the case. I hope this helps. Once you get your case and see the foam this explanation will make more sense, I hope. Overall 100% satisified. I think these cases would suit many needs: firearms, cameras, drones and many more items that need protection.

This is a very serious case that I've had since 2011. The foam insert can be easily adjusted to fit anything. I use it for a Springfield .45 auto handgun and spare magazines. This case could really withstand a fairly high drop or other luggage stacked on or around it on a plane. It really is impervious to water and dust infiltration and can be double locked. Very secure cushioning for handguns and other types of delicate cargo. The outside skin of the case is bullet proof but not in the literal sense! If you droped the case with a hand gun or rifle Scopes, you are not going to damage anything! The cushion inside is very thick charcoal color foam that can be plucked out in cubes to fit you pistol or whatever! I opted for the pluck out foam cube interior, other configurations available. I really love this case for handguns and don’t worry about water and dust at all getting in this case. I think the price is well worth what you get. You may find a cheaper imitation but it won’t withstand what this case can.
