Our tandem kayaks offer space, stability, and comfort — perfect for couples, friends, family outings, or solo trips on the water. Reel Yaks modular kayaks offer versatility, fishing upgrades, and various drive systems for reliability and freedom to do it all. How easy is it to assemble the two-piece kayak? Reel Yaks kayaks are modular hard-shell designs that break down into multiple manageable sections for easier transport and storage. Assembly is tool-free and designed to take only a few minutes once you are familiar with the process. What tools are needed for assembly? No tools are required. Reel Yaks kayaks are designed for tool-free assembly, allowing the sections to be connected quickly before launching. How long does it take to put together? Assembly typically takes only a few minutes once you are familiar with the system, since the modular sections are designed to connect quickly without tools. Does it come with all necessary accessories (stadium seat, rod holder, paddle)? Reel Yaks kayaks come ready to use with essential accessories included. This includes a stadium seat, rod holders, and paddle(s), so you can head straight out on the water without needing extra gear. Will it fit in my car/SUV without roof racks? Yes. Reel Yaks kayaks are modular hard-shell designs that break down into sections that can fit in many sedans, hatchbacks, and SUVs, eliminating the need for roof racks or trailers. How much does each section weigh? Each section is designed to be carried by one person. Depending on the model, sections typically weigh between 27 and 51 lbs, making them manageable for solo transport. What are the exact dimensions when disassembled? When disassembled, each section is compact and easy to store. Most modular sections range from approximately 55" to 65" in length, depending on the model. Do the sections come with storage bags? Reel Yaks kayaks do not include storage bags. However, the modular sections are designed to stack neatly or store easily in small spaces like apartments or garages. How stable is it for standing and fishing? Reel Yaks kayaks are designed with wide, stable hulls and flat standing areas, allowing anglers to stand and cast depending on water conditions and load. Can two people use it safely (adult + child)? Some Reel Yaks models are designed for solo or tandem use, allowing two people to paddle together. Examples include the 14ft Raptor and 14ft Raider (Prop Drive) models. How fast does the pedal drive propulsion work? Prop drive systems provide forward and reverse propulsion, making them useful for maneuvering around structures, docks, and fishing areas. Is it suitable for saltwater fishing? Reel Yaks kayaks are made from durable rotomolded polyethylene. This material is resistant to corrosion and suitable for use in saltwater environments. Are there known issues with the rudder system or steering cables? The rudder system is reliable but may require occasional adjustment over time. Simple cable tension adjustments can quickly resolve most steering issues. How durable are the propeller fins and connections? The propeller drive components are built for durability and regular use. However, like most pedal systems, they should be protected from impacts with rocks or obstacles to avoid damage. What's covered under the 2-year coverage? Reel Yaks covers defects for original buyers: hull/deck 2 yrs, pedal drive 1 yr, parts/accessories 90 days. Excludes wear, misuse, accidents, mods, transport damage, and commercial use. • Works as expected, completely satisfied
Style: Fin Drive
Arrived on time. Setup wasn't trivial, but the instructions were clear, and I had the boat in the water in an hour or so. Will be quicker in the future. Never got the rudder rope assembly to work, so I can't raise the rider by pulling the orange ball beside the seat. Hopefully, I'll work it out next time. Pedaling and steering works great. No reverse doesn't bother me. I have a paddle for reverse, and it's rarely needed. I chose the fin drive for shallow water. It's fast enough, and the effort isn't too much for my old legs. Don't know if it's faster or less strenuous than paddling my Pakayak, but it's a different sort of workout. I may take it to the Okefenokee Wildlife Refuge in the fall but only after I've pedaled at least five miles in a sitting. I don't fish much, but I'll give fishing another chance now that I have a fishing kayak. Didn't really get it for fishing though. ... show more

  • The Best Portable Fishing Kayak Out There
Style: Fin Drive
My Rapido 10.8ft Modular Fin Drive Pedal Fishing Kayak arrived one day earlier than expected. Upon taking it out of the box, I could see that, as advertised, both halves could be easily carried. The 2 modules fit snugly together, so much so that it took some time to get the knack of joining them. When they were in position, the 4 locks secured the halves firmly, and the result was a stable, secure, solid assembly. Unfortunately, the directions for the rudder system contained a picture and statements that did not match the unit I was holding. A gap was shown and described that did not exist. After some trial-and-error attempts, I was able to successfully resolve the dilemma. (You must thread the rope in such a way that the pulley wheel is engaged, which was not described in the directions.) The Pedal drive had been 90% assembled already. All I had to do was insert the pedals in the correct position to accommodate the length of my legs. (I'm 6' 4" and 195 lbs.) The installation of the stadium chair simply required me to screw 2 screws into the slider receivers in the seat rail and adjust for my preferred position. The kayak handles flawlessly, and the broad width of the rear unit provides a surprisingly stable ride even in rough water. As advertised, the kayak can be easily transported in the back of my Subaru SUV. NOTE: despite the fluid operation of the pedals, do not venture out without taking enclosed paddle with you. Because the fin drive can not be operated in reverse, you will find yourself in situations in shallow water or brush near the water's edge that you can extricate yourself only by the use of the paddle. The price for this kayak is surprisingly reasonable considering the quality of vessel that you're buying. I'm thoroughly delighted with my new Modular Kayak and look forward to weekly fishing trips to the Adirondaks and Finger Lakes of upstate New York all summer long. ... show more

  • From a four-star review to a two star review after actually using it for a little bit.
Style: Fin Drive
Honestly it was really easy to set up the problem is one of the latches the bolt was not in all the way and when I try and loosen or tighten it it just indefinitely turns it doesn't go in or out. Other than that I mean it's the quality you'd expect from China. The stickers already coming off the sides as it comes out of the box. It says the weight but it feels like it weighs more. Here's the updated part. The metal little ring that holds the seat strap snapped without even having really any weight on it, the clips that hold the pedal drive in massively now bend and bow wile using and you would think it'd be if I run it around or something and caused it to jerk and bend but I haven't even had it happen I've only put the pedal drive in when I'm in Open water. The pedal drive itself works great. That little storage box in the middle gets filled with water really quick it's like it doesn't even slow the water down. So far that bolt being loose hasn't made it janky or anything. I did stand up in it I'm 6 ft tall 220 lb and it seemed fine until I went to sit down and I fell out that's a skill issue. The seat slides forward and back no matter how much you tighten it. I feel like if they would have put four screws that you screw in for the front and back it might have made it better it feels like there needs to be in pink or point. Also do not buy this length of one unless you are over 6ft I have the seat all the way forward and I have to scooch my butt all the way up to the edge of the seat to comfortably pedal it I've constantly switched between all lengths and different sitting positions and obviously I wish there was a seed that let you lay back that actually feels like the most comfortable. That Bungie on the front with the mesh on it snapped the first time I went out. All I did was lay part of the pedal drive on it and the bungee just snapped like it was dry rotted already. I will say this also the handles feel like they're all spaced out terribly for trying to carry it as a whole kayak. And if you can't fit 7 ft in your vehicle or truck bed breaking in half this pointless. Joke's on me having a 6-ft bed I should have honestly looked at the measurements that's on me. I think going for the shorter model will be better for most people. ... show more

  • It lacks in the customer experience dept
Style: Fin Drive
Everything that came with it works and I'm pleased with the performance of the kayak in general. However, my gripe is: a. almost all bolts were either a little or very loose, and when they started falling off (I lost two important ones) I got clued in that they needed to be torqued down. b. there are dozens of holes, screws, fair leads, tracks, and no instructions on how to use them, what's possible to do with it, list of accessories or anything. You'd think it was designed in china. ... show more

  • Great kayak
Style: Fin Drive
It is way more stable then I thought. I've taken it to the ocean and it's everything plus more that I've wanted in a kayak for this price point. With enough practice I think I could stand on it too.

  • Do not buy
Style: Fin Drive
DO NOT BUY! Mine came in missing half of the hardware. It was missing the safety pins on all four latches, the one thing you need to keep this thing together. I would say you get what you pay for but it is extremely overpriced for the quality.

  • It’s heavy!!
Style: Fin Drive
Do your research about the pedal drives. Flippers don’t have reverse. Propeller does . Flipper is quieter and faster. Tried both.
