This item works as described and I had no issues. I also had my grand daughter test it also. They also had no issues. As for charging with the solar panel.     • IMPOSSIBLE TO RETURN! Tripped my home breakers & seller tried to bypass shipping laws!

BEWARE BEFORE YOU BUY! If you have to return this item for any reason, you will be stuck in a massive logistical and legal nightmare. The Charging Issue (Blew My Home Fuses): I bought this generator for camping and off-grid use. It actually worked fine to charge my phone overnight. However, the very first time I plugged the unit into my wall to recharge the generator itself, it immediately tripped my home's circuit breakers and blew my fuses. I tried plugging it into multiple different outlets on entirely different circuits in my house, and every single time it did the exact same thing. Because it kept blowing my home's fuses, I simply could not use it and had to request a return. The Return Nightmare (Massive Hazmat Shipping Issues): Even if the product itself is not "defective," returning a massive, 65+ lb high-capacity lithium-ion battery as a regular consumer is legally and physically almost impossible. FedEx Refusal #1: I took the heavy generator to FedEx, and they refused to ship it. Under federal shipping laws, regular consumers cannot legally ship high-capacity lithium batteries of this size without special hazmat training and certification. FedEx Refusal #2: I contacted Amazon, and the seller provided a hazardous material label. I took it to a larger FedEx Hub, but they refused it again. They explained that even with a label, an uncertified consumer cannot legally hand over a battery of this scale to be shipped. They actually wanted the seller's information to report them to federal authorities for trying to make a customer ship hazardous materials illegally. Falsified Shipping Label: Instead of arranging a legal, certified hazardous cargo pickup, the seller scheduled a home pickup but falsified the shipping label—stating this 65+ lb generator only weighed 18 lbs to sneak it through the standard mail system. Lying about the weight of a giant, highly flammable lithium battery to bypass safety protocols is highly dangerous and illegal. I refused to participate in this. Final Warning: If you buy this product and it doesn't work with your home's electrical system (like my experience with it blowing fuses), you will be stuck with a massive, 65+ lb lithium battery in your house that you legally cannot ship back. The seller will try to force you to bypass shipping laws to return it, and Amazon's A-to-z claim system has been incredibly difficult to navigate because of these shipping restrictions. Save yourself the massive headache and look elsewhere! ... show more

Didn't have to use it during a power outage yet, but it keeps a charge and it charges up without issue. I will update (possibly) the review after a power outage. I currently use it as a UPS with no issues. Also, the fan isn't that loud.

If you don't want to be out $1000 3 months in then I suggest you don't buy this it's supposed to last up to ten years you'll be lucky if you get half a year out of it and when you say it's malfunction they won't actually help you and neither will Amazon don't waste your $1000 buy more name brand if you have too but I would avoid this brand like the plague ... show more

The power station is handy for emergencies but the Pecron solar panels do not charge nearly as efficiently as advertised. I tried parallel connections on two, 200 watt solar panels and couldn't get more than 80-150 watts out of both of them on a sunny day, no matter how I angled them. I tried a single panel connection and couldn't get more than 80 watts out of that either. The power station also had loose parts inside (I assume a screw or nut). I tried reporting to Pecron directly but can't get anyone on the phone and have to do everything by email which is difficult. I asked for replacement on the power station and panels. Instead, they tried to give me a series of tasks to follow such as using multimeters to check the numbers and report back to them with images or video. Ridiculous. ... show more
