We bought this for our 10 year-old son who had been beating up my pots and pans (and ears) for nearly a year. My husband and I decided it was a good time to take the plunge and give him a proper drum set but didn’t want the noise that goes along with it. So, after doing our research on which electronic kit would give us the most for our money we decided that Pearl Drums was the way to go. We knew Pearl was considered one of the best, if not THE best drum manufacturer around and were delighted to hear they had just come out with an electronic kit, and one well within our budget. We’re super happy, it was easy to set up, fits nicely in a small space and came with everything needed to get our son started on the next phase of his musical journey. The media could not be loaded. Amazing entry level electronic drum set! (See Link Below) With Christmas coming up I purchased this for my nephew. He has been playing my acoustic set when he visits, and is really interested in drums. This will help be both parent friendly, and neighbor friendly while he practices. The kit set up in less than 1 hour, I didn't even need to open the instructions. This kit comes with EVERYTHING!!! Even the drum sticks, headphones, and the seat. I did a quick guitar loop and just jammed along to show the 15 different preloaded kits. This thing covers all the basics really well. I have owned several electronic drum kits by major and budget brands. Typically, you can rely on the name brands to provide superior quality and functionality, albeit usually at a higher price. Pearl is one of those brands and makes some of the best drum and percussion instruments in the world. And having owned many Pearl products over the years, I was happy to see this new entry level offering, which I ordered for my son who is learning to play drums. The kit comes well packed in one large box with all of the parts in smaller boxes with labels indicating what's inside. Having assembled several electronic drum kits, I found all of the parts and assembled it easily with no instructions. If you are not familiar with doing this, you may need assistance or instructions. But that can be said for any electronic kit. After assembling and wiring all of the pads to the brain, I sat at the kit to try it out. At this point, it became obvious that this is definitely geared toward kids. While I could sit at the kit and play (and there is enough height on the throne), it just feels small for an adult. I would not feel comfortable sitting and playing at this kit for any extended period of time. This is not really a criticism because I'm sure adult players were not the intended audience. But for kids in elementary or middle school, the size will be comfortable as it is for my 11-year-old. The kit has a lot of nice features including all mesh drum heads, a 2 zone snare pad, USB connectivity and all of the necessary inputs and outputs. It also comes with everything that would be needed to get started including the throne, headphones and sticks. There is nothing more needed to begin using this kit! Everything is also nice quality. So, while this this is an entry level kit, the build quality is worthy of a company with Pearl's reputation. The pads on the kit feel good to play and they respond well to most sticking that beginners will be capable of. I found some missed triggering when playing some faster things on the tom pads especially. There are 15 pre-programmed kits in the module with varying sounds for playing different kinds of music. There are some practice capabilities built into the module as well with songs, exercises and a metronome. With the USB interface, this can also integrate with external learning options such as Melodics. Overall, this is a great little kit from a respected drum brand. You will pay a little more for this kit compared to some no-name brands, but I think the quality is worth it. ... show more

I just purchased the new Pearl ERS 1000 and I am so happy with it !! It was easy to put together and it looks so cool all set up. The drums sound great in an amplifier or with headphones late at night, you can play hard and not bother anyone. It comes with everything you need to start playing !! I’m having fun with this kit. I’m in high school and play in school band but wanted to learn drum set. My parents got me this for my birthday and I was excited. This Pearl kit was very easy to set up and didn’t take me long to set up. The cables were marked so they were fast to connect. The assemble instruction is very clear and easy to follow. It is convenient for transporting to places in a suv. The sound is good enough for us. We are not musician though. It's worthy. My son likes it the first day he got it even he already has a set of other brand.
