  • Easiest way to get more USB ports on a desktop.
Very easy to install, no cables, and no need to download any drivers on Windows 11 22H2. Installed in a PCI-E slot that only supports X4 speeds, works perfectly for what I need and solved my issue with running out of resources on my motherboard's usb controller. No issues with the X16 slot going down to X8 or anything either, still runs at X16. ... show more

  • Excellent customer service
Installed into an empty PCI-E slot on a Lenovo IdeaCentre. The card was recognized by the OS (W11 Home). Installed the drivers. Seems like a great idea, in principle. The USB ports carry only power, no data. I checked the seating multiple times - seems that the card cannot be properly seated and installed as the card does not line up properly. I reseated it to check again. Drivers recognized and ONE USB 3.2 port carries data. everything else simply carries power. Not sure if the card is simply defective, but to me seems like a waste of money. ********************* July 25, 2023 update: After having an issue with the first board, customer service reached out to offer a replacement. All issues listed above have been corrected, and the replacement is working flawlessly. Surprisingly fast and responsive customer service definitely warrants and updated review. ... show more

  • Works out of the box - Windows 10 and 11 - No drivers needed
Used it since June '23. So much better imo than dangling off yet another USB hub off my computer. It powers anything I've plugged into it, too, and unlike a powered hub I don't have to hunt down another power outlet. Every port works, and I use them all (I have a lot of USB MIDI controller devices); and everything connects and stays connected. I couldn't ask for a better product like this tbh. ... show more

  • Disables many graphics cards but company worked with me
On install has a conflict with NVidia graphics card and disables it. No known fix that I could find, tried drivers directly from Fresco and it made no difference. Had to uninstall my graphics card and reinstall it to get things working again The seller was very responsive and sent me a new preconfigured card that works with my system. Very good at messaging and asking what the problem was and resolving it to my complete satisfaction. 4 stars only for the hassle involved with the card itself and the delays. ... show more

  • Weak signal when using long cables
I have a desktop server that I wanted to add some USB ports to my server rack on my keystone panel. I needed about 3-5 USB ports for this on the back end of the server. This product seemed to fit the description. Setup was simple, the server runs Linux and it recognized it just fine. I purchased some 6ft USB A to USB A cables from Cable Matters (pretty reputable manufacturer). All 5 cables plugged in. These went from the PCI-E card to the keystone panel and that panel had a double sided female USB A coupler. Nothing fancy, just whatever I bought on Amazon. I tested out with my SanDisk Extreme Pro SSD thumb drive. It gets power, the light came on but the server didn't recognize it as being connected. I checked logs to verify all this. - I started troubleshooting. I first checked the USB Drive. I plugged it directly into the PCI-E card, and it works. - I then checked to see if maybe it was the coupler, or the cable. I started testing with different USB A cables. I tried a different 2 meter cable (didn't work), a 1 meter cable (didn't work) and the finally when I tried an 8 inch cable it worked. So I thought maybe its the cable. - I plugged the original Cable Matters USB A cable into the front of the server with the coupler and it worked. I have come to the conclusion that the card will only work with shorter cables. Longer cables still provide power but it doesn't seem that data is able to be transferred. Pretty disappointed ... show more

  • The EASIEST way to add reliable USB 3.0 and USB-C ports to a computer.
I was running into issue after issue in my streaming software with USB tree hub issues and not being able to have two simultaneous USB 3.0 video sources being input. I ordered this to "create" another USB tree, and haven't had an issue since. Install: As easy as I imagined. I built my computer so installing this took maybe three minutes. Simply took off my sideview glass panel, removed a bracket, installed into the PCI slot, and that's it. (installed in an NZXT H510 Elite case) Quality: No complaints here. Initial impressions was that it felt solid. I've tested other hubs like this in the past and they just felt flimsy. This feels strong and the PCB doesn't have much give to it. The input area is well centered and the connection points feel strong and do not have any wiggle in them. There are no gaps in between this and the brackets on the back of my case. To everyone having issues with the card not lining up, it is NOT this things fault, it is your CASE. Speeds: Again, no complaints here. I tested each individual port by transferring some large files and the speeds were exactly as I expected them to be on my PCI 4.0 motherboard. Overall, I highly recommend. Easy to install. Solid build quality. Fast. ... show more

  • Works Great
While I was not able to fit it in my bottom PCIe slot because of the chassis interfering with the USB A ports, this card is WAY better than the other card I had that would struggle to even provide enough data to my keyboard (not joking). I understand why it is vertical though, because of the number of ports it has, so I'm still giving it 5 starts. Highly suggested to anyone looking for a USB expansion card. ... show more

  • Will not run portable small hard drives?
The only reason I bought this was to read more then one portable hard drives? Says it will?, As you know the hard drives do not have a secondary power slot. I should have bought a powered hub instead?, does work on thumb drives, they should have place a power receptor to plug the card in or simply say you need to use only self powered drives. and when I was planning on moving data between 2 drives? ... show more
