abunda_amazon_reviews I bought this card for a Dell Inspiron 530 running Windows 7 32bit. This setup is used to run my 3040 CNC Router through the Mach3 controller. It installed without a glitch and the Mach3/CNC Router is running great. When installing the driver for Win 7 using the supplied CD, navigate to the "\PCIe\OXPCIe952" directory then run "setup.exe". This will setup the driver for either 32 or 64 bit. WINDOWS 7 32BIT SETUP: 1) - After installing the driver, click the Windows button then type "device manager" then select "device manager" from the list. 2) - Select "Ports (COM & LPT)" within the Device Manager screen. 3) - Right click the "PCI Express ECP Parallel Port" then select "properties". 4) - Select the "Port Setting" TAB. 5) - Select "LPT1" from the drop down list. Mine was set to "LPT3". 6) - Select the "Resources" TAB and write down the first "I/O Range" in the list, mine is set to CF00-CF07. Works with Mach3 and Geckodrive for CNC
I'm writing this review for 2 reasons: 1) To let others know that this parallel port worked to run a stepper motor driven CNC machine. My desktop computer is running Windows 7 32bit with Mach3 and connects to a Geckodrive G540 through this parallel port. A couple notes *you have to be running 32bit for mach 3 to work, and you have to configure the port settings in Mach3 for it to properly send signals to this port. 2) The customer support was incredible. I was having trouble getting Mach3 to send signals through the port (which turned out to be an incorrect setting that I put in). Before figuring out that the port was fine, I called Startech's customer service. I was answered by a human and spoke to a knowledgeable and helpful tech who promptly followed up over email with another driver I could try. Again, the port was never the issue, and I didn't end up needing the new driver, but I felt so grateful and relieved to get this level of support that I had to write this review. I will gladly purchase other hardware from Startech in the future!

Requires a manual driver install
Bought this for work in order to get an older printer with an LPT port to work with a newer computer. The card came in nice packaging along with a low profile face plate for PC's without a full height PCIe slot. The card itself appears to be of good quality and installed into a standard PCIe slot as you would expect. The only thing that was surprising in this day and age is that it wasn't plug and play with Windows 10. The drivers required a manual installation to get the card to work. Fortunately, however, the required drivers came on a CD in the box so there was no need to go searching on the internet for them. Once the drivers were installed everything worked just fine and 3 weeks or so later the employee is happily printing away on that workstation without a problem. Definitely a cheaper solution than buying a new laser jet printer and seems to work great. It's a product that I would recommend for anyone who needs such a card. The only thing that I would caution is don't throw away the packing and related materials until the card is fully installed since you'll need to use the CD included to install the card unless you want to go searching on the internet for them.

Amazon was the seller. My new PC (running Windows XP Home SP3) didn't have a parallel port, and I didn't want to get rid of the old printer just yet...since it still works great. I bought this card from Amazon for 20 bucks. It's small...just like it shows. And it works just like it should. A driver CD comes with it. The CD has 7 folders with many sub-folders under each folder. That was confusing; here is the folder list: * AV Grabber * EM2860 * ExpressCard * LAN * PCI_IO * PCIe * SOUND I visited the Star Tech website, searched for part # PEX1P, and found the drivers in one zip file...much easier.
