This is the best vitamin C I've ever used. My esthetician recommended mixing a few drops of hyaluronic acid serum with it in my palm to make it more spreadable and for it to last a little longer. When I first started using this product, I didn't give it the attention I should have. I received it in a sample kit, and thought that some of the improvements in my facial skin were due to all the products combined. The samples together did not last for more than a month and since I had not noticed that much of a difference, I opted out of getting more of the products. They are very pricey and if they didn't really work then why waste my money right? The one thing I did still have something left of was this product. I continued to use it and began to see that the dark spots on my forehead and cheeks were beginning to fade. Hummm...ok, I bought some more of this stuff and began to use it on my neck were I had LARGE dark spots on each side. Over time, my dark spots may not be completely gone, but they are vastly lighter than before. This is the only product that has even come close to making my dark spots disappear. My skin truly does look more even, youthful , and my wrinkles are fewer. If you can be patient, and give it some time, PCA Skin C&E Max really can make a difference. ... show more

PCA is one of my favorite skincare brands. I started using it when it was only distributed by physicians offices. I verified and Amazon is a licensed distributor now which is awesome. Plus the packaging was correct, it was properly sealed, and the expiration was 14 months out so it is authentic. Some people mentioned the smell is weird. Mine wasn't. It was the same smell, consistency, and color as the one I bought at my dermis office. This C works great for addressing pigmentation. I have Melissa and hyperpigmentation is an uphill battle of C serum and hydroquinone tropicals. This C cream is my favorite and provides enough bang for the price point. I use it in the AM before applying my moisturizer. It doesn't cause extra shine and my foundation goes on smoothly afterwards. It almost acts as a primer too in my opinion. ... show more

    • It is gritty and I love it!
It is gritty and I love it! Don't be surprised by the packaging and the texture of the cream. Because of the type of Vitamin C used, it is already stabilized and does not need to come in a dark "package" to protect the Vitamin C from oxidizing. The cream is a light yellow and once you start to rub it in, it will go from a cream to almost a powder. Because of the form of Vitamin C used, this 20% is will be stronger than another product that is in a gel or liquid format. This is a high percentage of Vitamin C, so use the regular C&E if you are new to using a Vitamin C product. Expect a "tingle" even if you have been using it for a while; tingle is good...burning is bad. If, after you put it on, you think that it might be too much, I recommend taking a soft dry washcloth and gently brush the product off rather than re-washing your face. However, if it burns in any way, splash cold water and gently pat your face dry. I have not had any problems with layering another serum and/or moisturizer on top of it. If you have pigmentation problems, this will really help. ... show more

This C E strength max along with the intensive brightening treatment 0.5% retinol are the 2 PCA products that are a must for me. They have both improved my complexion more than anything else I've ever used. My skin is clearer, firmer, has smaller pores & glows like it did when I was much younger (I'm 58). I just had lunch with a friend I hadn't seen for a while, she thought I had work done - nope, just PCA. Since this is a wonderful line of skin care I do use many of the other products however these 2 are my favorites. ... show more

    • This stuff works.
This stuff is pretty expensive for a small tube although a little does go a long way. It sank right into my skin and made it feel more supple. I really like the product and probably will continue to use it as I see good results.

    • PCA not cheap, but the quality is there.
I am middle aged and live in the northeast. I have dry acne prone skin. This is an expensive product. I do see a difference in the health of my skin and with fine lines. It soaks in and is not greasy at all. It has no orange shiny hue like some other Vitamin C serums. I follow up with PCA Weightless 45% sunscreen. Two great products. No greasy feel and they both work great. There is no sign of either product under make-up, and no greasy feel. ... show more
