It's been a few weeks, and I haven't noticed any fading or discoloration. I was a bit skeptical about how it would hold up with water, but it's been fine so far (again, only 2 weeks). I haven't experienced any green discoloration. I've received numerous compliments on the chain, which is always a plus. While I can't speak to its long-term durability yet, for the price, I think it's a great buy. You can adjust the length by about an inch *see pics for examples* Just gotta test if I can shower with it - other than that, good buy. 1 month update — You can shower with it but I don’t recommend it, depends how your skin takes it. The chain doesn’t leave a bad smell, it hasn’t rusted, nor does it leave a green mark but it’s probably just a personal problem with my skin, I ended up getting a pimple on the back of my neck where the clasp lies. Its basically a choker. I had to hook into the last loop on the extension to get close to *not* being a choker. I thought I'd ordered an 18" length, but looking back, the length isn't in the description. Otherwise the necklace is elegant & sophisticated & what i was looking for.
