This toner is a staple in my household. It is super lightweight and still effective. Unlike my boyfriend with oily skin who also uses this product, I have combination skin; I am not super oily, but I tend to get a little shiny in my T-zone (central region of the face) throughout the day. I feel that this is a perfect facial regimen necessity for those just getting into skincare or for the pros as well. Paula's Choice does a great job with directing you to what to use at what step in your regimen, for example this would be the 2nd step and should be used directly after washing. Like I said, it is lightweight and can be paired with any of your other products like Vitamin C, moisturizer, and SPF. It brings moisture back into the skin once clean and provides a balance for layering products. I like to pair this with the liquid exfoliant, and I do use it day/night. Also, I'd hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you can't actually shrink pores. The niacinamide in this product helps boosts collagen production which helps minimize the appearance of pores by stimulating the area surrounding your pores. I would recommend this product to anyone!

This is a fantastic face wash. Only takes a pinch to use all over my face. It will definitely last a very long time! Has drastically reduced my large pores and blackheads almost overnight. However, I have been breaking out a little bit since I started using it and I am sure it’s because the face wash is getting rid of the impurities. I use this face wash and then toner. Will certainly buy again.

The product advertised it helps to reduce oily skin, it actually made my skin more oily compared to the previous product I was using before this. Keeping in mind I also use the pore minimizer toner and the moisturizer that goes with it. I am in love with the product overall, my skin is clearer, feels clean, and actually SMOOTHER as well as a nice glow!

A very mellow clean. It doesn't have beads or any abrasives or a strong smell or sensation. It's just clean and it's kind of nice. I noticed my skin isn't as dry as with other face washes

I don't buy this for the oil controlling advertisement. It takes off all makeup including my mascara very well and that's what matters to me. I'm so surprised this feature is not advertised in the ad. A little also goes a long way so this lasts me months. You will probably need a moisturizer after this if you are not plagued by oily skin, but I'm fine with that. I don't consider it excessively stripping to the skin either or I wouldn't be able to stand it. Every time I try another cheaper product, I keep coming back to this one. It will sting the eyes so you have to be mindful when using it. They can do much better on the cap, however. When you get to the last 25% of the bottle, it's a real pain to get it out. Why isn't this in a pump with a straw that goes ALL the way to the bottom?

I love this face wash, it is by far the best face wash I have ever used, I am on my fourth bottle of this product ( I even got my sister to use it, and she loves it). I use a lot of Paula Choice products and this is one that will always stay in my collection. It provides a thick lather, that creates a deep cleanse, and makes you feel fresh and clean afterwards. This cleanser can even get a full face of makeup off, along with my waterproof mascara. My skin changes consistently, in the summer its oily, and in the winter it's both dry and oily. I never have an issue with any season. Highly recommend this if you like a thick lathering cleanser, or your skin texture is constantly shifting.

I've been using this for years and have tried many other face washes but keep returning to this one. I like that it DOES NOT contain hyaluronic acid as that can actually make any actives you may be using (like retinols) more agitating. Hyaluronic acid when not using actives is great, but when mixed with actives, it can make the active not as gentle as it normally should be. Something to keep in mind. Please note that this cleanser is not some sort of miracle oil remover. It's quite gentle and will help balance out our skin and the oil, but if you have oil skin, yes you will still be oily by the end of the day.
