  • It actually works!
Style: Trial Size - Regular Strength
I have tried EVERYTHING for my acne. EVERYTHING. Nuetrogena, La Roche-Posay, Differin Gel, Alba Botanica's acne dote, random stuff from the store, a mix of cetiphil soap and hibbacleanse (is that how you spell it?), and even nothing at all. Everything either gave me a permanent sunburn, made my skin peel/flake, or gave me more acne. Ever since I was 12 years old, I've been searching and searching for the right product. I think this is it. I ordered the regular strength travel size, and I love it. The first thing you will notice about Paula's Choice trial size is that it is, well, tiny. The bottles are VERY small. But don't let that get you down. I found that the small size is actually helpful, because it helps you conserve the product and not use too much, which could cause irritation. Tip: The instructions on the bottle may not always be the instructions for your skin. What I mean by this is that sometimes we all can be very tempted to follow the "use one to three times a day" instructions the brand gives us, though our skin is individual and unique and may require more or less, depending on skin sensitivity, severity of acne, etc. I started using the cleanser in the evening, then I washed with a normal cleanser the next morning, and then I used the cleanser, toner, and treatment, that evening. The next day, I started using the cleanser and toner in the morning and all three of them at night. That is what I have been doing for the past 3 weeks, and there is still about 1-2 weeks left I think in the bottles! The next thing I want to say is IT DOES NOT WORK MIRACLES! It's not going to just magically clear up your acne overnight. it's going to take time, and you're going to have to have some patience. I've been using it for three weeks and have seen some great improvement! But the first 1-4 days I didn't see much of a difference at all. I have really, really bad acne on the sides of my face and on my chin/jaw area. I get pimples a lot on my cheeks and forehead too, but the chin/jaw and sides of my face near my ears has the worst acne; with bright, big, red and very painful pimples. This acne treatment really helped prevent new pimples from forming, it made the existing ones smaller and less painful, and it makes my skin feel and look way better. I'm not really sure what the anti-redness stuff does, but the other things have helped. One last tip: Make sure you have a good face sunscreen and moisturizer before using this. Benzoyl peroxide is known to dry out your skin and make it more prone to sunburns. So, grab yourself a really great sunscreen that won't cause acne, and a moisturizer that is you a rich, and non-greasy. I use Alba Botanica's aloe and green tea moisturizer, and it is absolutely perfect with this product. Bottom Line: Get your skin used to this treatment before you use it full-on, have patience, and team it with good moisture and sun protection! I totally recommend this product, so if you're still on the fence, GET IT! The trial size is very low-commitment, and won't make your acne worse, so there's really no reason NOT to try this! Hope your story is as happy as mine! :) ... show more

  • Best value and best results!
Style: Full Size - Regular Strength
I ordered this after doing a lot of research and almost buying the Unblemish regimen from Rodan & Fields. The price on that was scary and the conflicting results online made me look for an alternative. I read about Paula's Choice on a consumer reports site and figured I would try it. I have used Proactiv in the past, and had good results but then it stopped working. I have heard that the formula changed, and I'm not the only one that it became ineffective for. I have also tried Murad and Differen. These did not work for me either. I am 36 and have suffered with acne since my early 20's. I was recently only using coconut and tea tree oils since I was pregnant and then nursing, and that was working okay for a while. Lately my skin was back to breaking out regularly on my chin so I needed something stronger. I got the trial size of the regular strength regimen. Within a week of using this product, all of the acne that I had was GONE and no new breakouts since then. After two weeks, my skin was so soft, it felt nicer than I have felt it since I was a young teen. I waited until the trial size kit was almost gone before ordering the whole set, just in case! (I've been burned many times by other products!) Well, I ordered the full kit because my results are so great. Accidently, I ordered the wrong one, I got the extra strength kit and didn't really realize it until a few days in. It burns a little and my skin is a bit drier, but I simply exfoliate a bit more and the results are the same, no more breakouts! I do need to order the right one though, as my under eye area is pretty dry now. But I am really a fan of these products! I wish I had taken some before and after pictures, it really works that well for me! ... show more

  • Simple, effective in DAYS, and worth the money!
Style: Full Size - Extra Strength
I've only been using this set for a week but holy smoke has my skin texture improved LIKE CRAZY. I break up the products between morning/evening. I use all three at night after using a makeup remover if needed. I ocassionally skip the 2nd step at night depending on how my skin is that day, and then just the toner and lotion (step 2 and 3) in the morning. I always follow with a moisturizer, with a thicker moisturizer at night and light moisturizer in the morning. Make sure your moisturizer has ceramides, hyaluronic acid, and /or zinc, this helps greatly with healing and mpisture. It does make my neck itch a tiny bit, but I have extremely sensitive skin on my neck, so I just don't pull the products down much past my jawline. Moisturizing takes the itch away. I would recommend only using step 3 twice a day if your skin tolerates it. Otherwise once a day is plenty for results. Rotating in an AHA (like glycolic or lactic acid) treatment opposite of the time of day you use step 2 will give you even better results as this product contains a BHA (salicylic acid). Proceed with caution at first! Watch how your skin tolerates things and go forward from there. ... show more
