I must admit I have not used these yet! i bought them for the size of tube, 21ml, which is hard to find in a complete set. I bought these for my plein air kit which has a slide out palette and the small tubes fit inside it. This is perfect for hiking with my oil kit and having the tubes i need with me without squeezing out paint ahead of time. the price is very good1 I will add on to this review once I have painted with these Rubens paints, they say on the box, "it will make you love Chinese oils!" let's see...

I’m not an expert in paints so I can’t comment on the pigmentation level or how it compares to other paints, but for my 5 year old, it’s good enough and has a nice variety of colors. Works well and easy to use, happy with this purchase.

The media could not be loaded. Wish I could give this five stars for the pigment price quality and quantity however they do dry much faster than other oils for example Windsor and newtons take about three times longer to dry to touch which can be good or bad but I don’t have issues with these partially drying and going back over them they don’t pill like the other brands do if painted over moderate layers while having like twelve hours to air dry but within days of having them sadly 3 of the tubes without checking all have been punctured from the necessary squishing of the packaging to be able to mix the linseed oil in with the paint as it does come separated and needs to be mixed by hand before use or u will have oil spill everywhere and your paint will end up being extra thick and u will have to add your own oil manually back into the tube later. Very sad these have such poor quality packaging. It’s beautiful. The color selection is great. The tubes are much bigger than the Windsor Newton set for around the same price and to be honest I like the quality and consistency of these more. They are less slick without being too thick feeling they go on much easier rather than feeling like I’m coding on top of other oil layers like I do with the Windsor Newton oil colors, but if I have to keep them all in Ziploc baggies and they’re going to use all over my hands every time I use them and accidentally ruined my paintings when I touch the canvas not remembering that the tubes are busted open. It’s going to be a disaster. I really wish I could give you a better review if they change their packaging they would have five stars from me. They need something thicker like Windsor and Newton‘s larger tubes. Come with like for their water mixable oil colors the thicker because these are so thin that even with minimal mixing, I have several punctures in at least three tubes. I haven’t even checked the other ones yet if you don’t mind, squeezing into your own containers, then buy them but if you plan on using them out of the tube, just know they will break open on you and you will have to mix them yourself because the oil sits on top and even leaks out around the seam of the cap before you get it so you will have a little gooey mess Please change the packaging. If they do this would be an exceptional value but for the price and hassle I can’t justify buying these again sadly knowing they will bust open with kneeling of the tubes :(

I am new to oil paint and wanted to try without making a huge investment in my first set paints. This Paul Rubens Oil Paint set is perfect for both beginners (like me ) and for people who regularly oil paint. The paints came well packaged in a nice sturdy cardboard box and the tubes were all neat and organized. The paints were easy to open and use and I found the colors very bright and well pigmented. The tubes are in a common size for oil paints which is nice if you have paint storage drawers (like I have on my easel) they fit inside nicely. I was able to get some good color blending and texturing out of these paints and great surface coverage. Since I am currently working on 8x10 and smaller surfaces with these paints I am sure they will last a pretty decent time before I need to order another set.

Not sure what happened but the box is bent, the foam was wrinkled, and the tubes are all jumbled and look like they have been squeezed and mangled. Box and contents looked nothing like the photo in the listing. I haven’t used the paint yet so hoping the tubes aren’t dried out. more to follow

I have a set of oil pastels from this brand which are great, so I was pretty sure the paints would be good quality as well. These definitely met my expectations. The texture is nice, and they are easy to blend and easy to layer. The tubes are a nice size and the assortment of colors included is great. I'm really surprised how affordable this set is since the quality is so good. I would definitely order these again.

These paints are really great quality. They blend well, and they give my art pieces a beautiful texture. They're smooth and buildable. The set has so many colors, and a little goes a long way, so the size of the tubes is good and should last a while with moderate use. I always use a paint thinner to clean my brushes, and this responds well to that way of cleaning, making them decently easy to clean. This is such a value for quality of paints. I'm very happy with them.
