It sounds like the beginning of a country song, so if your itching for some stitching on a pair of square-toed calf-cut boots? These are what you're looking for! Referred as ankle boots? I have had those and these are cut higher on the calf and shown in the attached pictures as measured 9" from the top of the boot opening, to the boot sole directly in from of the heel. Speaking of the heel, I find it comfortable with wear and a good size for balancing the boot out. An abundance of white stitching stands out on the faux leather in black, especially on the upper shoe portion, which is surprisingly not pointed. These tips are squared off, not rounded or sharply V'd in the least, a fresh choice as opposed to the tipped norm. The soles are rubber creased, allowing a nonslip stroll, pleasing after most boots I have are extremely perilous in unsafe slick soles. Although I choose the basic black (as I most often do) at the time of ordering there were two other color choices available, a red, and a white or possibly off-white (I apologize for being uncertain as to the white or off-white color. I forgot.) I think the red would also make a good statement boot, the pop of color under jeans I think says a lot without speaking if you know what I mean. I simply have a hard time veering away from my forever noncolor choice in basically black in all. But for some reason, I keep picturing the red boots in my mind. So that is a possibility. But for now? Staying with my black, but I am saying I most definitely suggest the red, or perhaps white if you are looking for a boot for your country wedding. The calf cut would be nice to not be too much under a flowing dress, just thinking. My only wish is that the massive stitching could perhaps be in another color than white. It is fine, but a bit "there" for my taste. Again, that is my specific preference, nothing to do with the boot otherwise. The shorter style is nice for wearing in the spring/summer months with jeans. I like the full upper if wearing shorts (which is not a great deal) but with pants during hot weather? I find it better to have less boot and more air which these provide in height. Seemingly well made, not rugged, but if taken care of? Should last a while, hard to say without using it for a longer period than I have to date. An all-around western boot with a new take on the tip & a good price for non-leather footwear.

Maybe these will loosen up, so I don't want to rate them super low, just in case. These have an odd fit to me. I have long, skinny feet and I don't regularly wear a wider size. These are pretty narrow at the ends, (I know they're pointed-toe, just hear me out), and then there's an extra inch and a half of emptiness at the tip past where my toes fit in. My feet rub the sides lightly and also slide forward when I stand upright in these. They might flex and mold to my feet as far as the sides go, and I always wear thick socks, so I'm not super worried about that. I got my usual size and I feel like there's an excessive amount of extra space in the toe and that I'm going to have to walk with my feet clenched a bit to hold my place inside the shoe. Also, an odd note about the packaging. These aren't ankle booties, they aren't calf or knee height standard, they're between the length of booties and calf height. But they come in a box for bootie length boots. So, the top couple of inches are folded over, leaving a mild crease that has worked itself out somewhat when lying flat for two days. If a larger box was used, this wouldn't be a problem. The choice of a small box causes them to come out looking crooked, creased, and weird. Otherwise: Bright red color, excellent stitching, a very bold look, comfortable insoles, smooth walk with no slippage on tile or hardwood, and no annoying rub against my calves where the tops touch my skin. Super cute with skinnies and just as cute with a skirt. Definitely a great way to add a pop of color to a monochrome or subdued outfit. I'll wear these out and to the office, but probably not super often, because I don't love the fit of them. However, I think that if I took a risk and sized down a half size, they might just fit perfectly, as long as they flex a bit around the sides. I'm not willing to, but it's something to consider. Also, if you have wider feet or need a wider fit, I do not recommend these at all. They are long and skinny.

These are a 9.5 medium and did you see the toe look at the picture there’s square but rounded very weird. Don’t think I like that looks unfinished. The stitching is fantastic in the color of black. Wow what a pop. They’re a little big. I tried them on with a medium sock. My heel slipped and my toe area was comfortable. You know how it is? Trying to find a good pair of shoes or boots. I like the height of the boot on my leg, when I’m wearing them with jeans. But I’m definitely noticing my heel slip even tried a thicker pair socks, now my toes are all crowded and the heel fits fine. I still can’t get over how the toe the boot looks. I give it three stars
