Description

The Passback Football was invented by Mike McGonigle in 1993. While watching a football game on Halloween he noticed a goofy looking pumpkin staring at him. The pumpkin’s wide smile seemed to be daring Mike to pick it up. Mike proceeded to chuck it at the wall and it came back to him in a slight spiral. When he returned home he began lopping his old nerf balls into flat footballs. These, like the pumpkin, came spiraling back when he tossed them against a wall. Thus, the Passback was born. The Passback Football is a one of a kind training tool which is thrown like a regulation football but engineered to hit a surface and come spiraling back.     • Best Football Ever
Growing up i lived, ate, and slept football. It was all I thought about and it really consumed me as a young man. I was lucky extend my career a few years into college but ever since hanging up my helmet I've missed it so much. Now I'm almost 30 and a few times a month I still have dreams of getting the chance to play, but something always happens. Sometimes we take a wrong turn, other times I lose my helmet, but the theme remains, I never get to replicate the feeling I once had. Now as an adult, I see younger guys throwing the ball in the park and it makes me self conscious thinking "Do I still have it?" Or "Can I still hit that route?". The horror is you don't know until you try in public...until now. That's where the Passback comes in. I saw some reviews and videos online and thought "wow! I can finally get my throwing and catching back in private and without embarrassing myself". The first day I pumped it up I threw for over an hour! It works on stucco, brick, anything! My advice is throw it against something 8-12 feet high so it bounces back towards your face. Also, this ball just works as a normal football. Its great for playing catch with a friend as the flat side makes it super easy to catch. Overall I'm so happy with this ball. I've taken it to the beach and had multiple people ask how it spirals, how it is to catch etc. Everyone thinks it's super cool, but the coolest thing of all is that I now get to throw passes and recreate the feelings of playing in between Zoom calls in the middle of the work day.     • Excellent and does what it promises, but color degrades.
The color has degraded from the areas where i hold the ball to throw it, but overall good football and does exactly what it says. Just make sure you get the correct size.

    • Good gift, not good for training
It worked for the first few times I used it but the material broke fast and it had bad air retentions and the bounce was ok but not the best. It’s a fun gift but if your trying to use it as a training tool it will not help much

    • Good tool to develop your throwing arm
Great for practicing and perfecting throws in a short amount of time. Practicing with friends you have to wait for them to pass it back and that's if they don't drop it. Within minutes this thing can wear you out while giving you a good workout. I duct tape a piece of cardboard to the brick so it doesn't wear the ball out as fast and to have something to aim at. I think that makes me have to throw it even harder to get it back to me too. It seems like the ball lets you know when you have thrown correctly - the harder and more spiral you got on it, the better it comes back to you. Softer, lesser-correctly thrown balls tend to bounce around in different directions. Only problem is with the parents - inside they claim it sounds like you're tearing the house down. Wait until they're not home to use it. For this, I give it a 1 star.........just kidding. ... show more
