    • Great colors, packaging considerations
I like the product and mix of colors. This packaging requires that you unscrew the jars to see the colors. There is only one actual lid for the stack and there is less product than the standalone containers. I prefer the kits that come in the trays with a cap on each color.

These pigments have great metallic effects. I use pastels to shade my mini model horses I make and this guy was a tester to see how well the metallics cover over paints. With 2-3 coats he's shiny and looking how I wanted. I have not ever had any issues with any pan pastel pigments personally.

    • Nice metallic colors
The metallics are a great change from the standard colors. They have a nice shimmer to them. They show up great on rough card stock for the best intensity of color. You can use on light or dark papers. You can mix them to create your own colors with shimmer. They are erasable as long as you do not wet them. If you use them wet, you will always have shimmer & color left where you erased. The only down side is that they come all stacked together so if you want to see what color is where, you have to unscrew them all from each other and lay them out. I wish they each had their own cover. If they were individually covered, I would have rated 5 stars. I have not used the sponges that came with the kit. I use cheap make-up cotton rounds to apply the chalk. The sponges take to long to dry after cleaning before you can use them again. ... show more

Overall I love Panpastels but during packaging they must have forgotten to add airbags in the box to protect the set from bouncing around. 4 out the 7 pans were shattered. I've seen some YouTube videos that demonstrate on how to fix the pans with rubbing alcohol. Not mad just a bit irritated. Overall the package/handling sucked but the product is amazing. The set also included some extra Soft mini applicators and sponges. ... show more
