  • Six Month Review: Completely Satisfied
Style: Washing Machine
We spent a month looking for the perfect portable washer. There are a lot on the market, with varying reviews and experiences. We were a little hesitant about all of them but this one seemed promising: And it is! I'll provide information about our set up experiences at two different houses followed by a pro and con list. At the end, I'll provide some tips based on other reviews I read in case you're worried about some other experiences--many problems people had were easy for us to figure out. Set up: No need to install too much. Depending on the type of faucet you have in your sink will depend on how you hook it up. We had to get a quick connector and wound up placing it on our bathroom sink in the first house we lived in. We weren't allowed to install a washer, so this was the best solution. We got a longer hose off amazon to intake water and a longer hose to have it pump out that simply attached to the existing hose. After we moved, we were able to set up the quick adapter in our new bathroom sink but the sink itself did not have a sensor on it to tell it to stop pumping out water when the washer didn't need it. This has *nothing* to do with the washer, we just had to set it up a little differently. The washer is still perfect, it's not the washer's fault the sink wasn't set up how it needed to be. This shouldn't be an issue for most situations, but we came up with an easy solution. I found an adapter for shower heads that allows you to have two shower heads and pull a "tab" to switch between them, so only one shower head is on at once. I don't remember what this adapter was called but it was easy to find at home depot (probably better price at amazon). From there, I needed a quick connect to make it easy to connect and disconnect the hose. The one for the sink isn't the same size threading or something so it wouldn't work. Instead, we got a garden hose quick connector (this is something that would allow you to quickly dis/connect a spray handle from a hose). Once I figured out what I needed, it was a very simple set up! Pros: -It pumps the water out for you unlike other washers. -There are a lot of settings to fit your different needs. -It stops whatever its doing when the lid is opened. -It can be paused and restarted. -It will beep at you if something is wrong. -Directions are clear and easy to read. I was very upset with some of the other reviewers and the rude language they used regarding this. -Washes bedsheets and blankets within the weight category. -You can pause to add fabric softener. -Warm or cold water (don't use super hot water). -Doesn't need a lot of detergent. I use powdered detergent, one box (large) has lasted me the whole 6 months. Cons: Some of these are a bit of a stretch. -Can't use super hot water...not really an issue? -Might take some additional adapters/hoses depending on what kind of sink you have and the size of threading. This would be the same with any other washer, though. -She's a little loud, but it's not a big deal. -Mine came with a bit of a blemish on the front, it isn't a big deal and doesn't disrupt its ability to clean things whatsoever. So, rather than complaining about it I'm just looking for a cute panda-printed tape or something to place around the washer so it covers the blemish. It doesn't bother me so much that it's a pressing matter. Tips: -Bedsheets: Queen, up to 2, I usually do 1 at a time. -Blankets: I only do blankets within the weight (12lbs), 1 at a time. -If you're putting in a lot of clothes you should use the highest water setting. Some reviewers had tears in their clothes because there wasn't enough water to keep the clothes from catching on the lint trap. This isn't really a problem, it doesn't use a lot of water. -Might want little risers or spacers if your floor is not level so that the washer will be level and works well. -I would put a lint trap at the end of the outgoing hose. After trying a few things I just use organza bags now-they're cheap to buy in bulk and can be discarded. Some days I go without washing, some days I'll wash over four loads in a day back to back. I wash everything I own in this washer and I am very pleased. She handles very well, she's a real trooper. I was so worried something would go wrong but I am very glad I went with this washer over any other I was looking at. ... show more

  • Half-size washer you can hook up to your bathroom sink
Style: Washing Machine
unintended update 05/25/23 : I finally ran into an issue with this dependable machine. After almost 3 years of every single Sunday use the drain hose failed. It became brittle from age and cracked and split. That is the singular issue I have had with this unit in 3 years. An issue that is common with even its bigger cousins. I simply detached the drain hose from the drain pump housing and replaced it with a new house. The first unit I got didn't power on at all and Amazon sent me a replacement within a week's time before even receiving the faulty unit back (UPS pick-up issues. Kudos to Amazon customer service. I won't even broach UPS's customer service.). The second unit I received worked as advertised. It can basically hold about half the clothes a full-size commercial washer can. The standard wash cycle does take a little longer than your average commercial washer but the clothes have come out at least just as clean as a commercial washer. It also has a cycle that will pre-soak, wash and rinse which most commercial washers are sadly missing. This cycle takes a little over an hour but what else would you expect with a pre-soak cycle added in? It makes very little noise regardless of the cycle, including the spin cycle. In fact it makes much less noise than your average commercial washer. It uses a pulsating motor instead of a central column agitator which is why this unit is so quiet. The drain hose seems to be less than durable and, imho both the drain hose and the inlet hose are way too short but they do reach where I need them to reach..........barely. The plastic formed elbow for the drain hose meant to secure the hose in place is all but useless except for maybe vanity-less sinks. I actually twist my drain hose and this elbow around the water inlet hose that is attached to the faucet to keep it secure. It also comes with a little integrated lint filter that is real easy to access and clean. It's located on the inside and on the side of the wash drum itself. My advice would be to clean it after every use which is easy to do so it's not a hassle. One last thing. Contrary to a lot of the reviews I have read this unit does come with two small wheels on the bottom in the back of the unit. They do work but can be iffy if used on carpet. They still make this unit mobile enough though. It can just be a little harder to move on carpet in comparison to tile/wood/plain floors due to the wheels being really diminutive. For me personally this is a good little space saving portable clothes washer for regular use and I would recommend it to those looking for these qualities. I will probably be back to update this review one way or the other after I get to use the washer more than just a few times. Update 05/26/2021 : I've had over a month to use this little machine and I have to say I'm pretty satisfied with it. On average I do about 4 full loads with this machine (Translates to 2 full full-sized commercial washer loads.) a week. It's still cleaning my clothes satisfactory but it takes 2 to 3 times as long to do laundry. It is a compact portable washer so the extra time should be expected. I've had no leaking issue not even at the faucet adapter like many others seem to have had. The machine even rebalances itself which I have actually witnessed while it was rebalancing. I still consider this a great investment. I will be back in one year to update my evaluation of this impressive little washing machine whether good or bad. Final update 05/26/2022 : It's been over a year now and this little washer is going just as strong as the first day I got it. My water bill and electric bill have not gone up even a negligible amount using this washer. I am still doing 4 to 5 loads a week every Sunday. I can leave this washer unattended to do it's thing while I go off and do mine unlike many other "portable" washers. It's still cleaning just as good or better as it's non-portable impeller counterparts as long as you don't fill the tub more than 3/4 full of DRY clothes. I have had no leaks. I have used both dry and liquid detergents without any ill effects. I still only use "cold" water (I live in FL so cold tap water is more like lukewarm the best of times lol.) and it cleans the clothes, even stains, quite well. Using just "cold" water has probably contributed quite a bit to not developing any leaks. All and all this washer has been phenomenal for what it is and meante to be for me. I would still highly recommend this brand and model if they still are manufacturing it. I would even recommend it over the newer model since it does have a 2 - 3 lb higher capacity than the newer model. ... show more
