    • If you want the handle buy the x2000!!!
I bought this to replace the x1000 I’ve had for years. It finally stopped holding focus. I decided I wanted to stay with Panasonic so I could use all my old batteries. Mistake 1. Only the “small” batteries still fit in the x1500. The large capacity batteries won’t snap into the newer camera. Which sucks because you can no longer change the battery on a tripod. Mistake 2. All research online said buy the x1500 and the handle separately. You can save $200 instead of buying the x2000 which comes with the handle and one streaming output port?? My mistake was, Panasonic has been out of stock on the handle for months. I have an order on hold with B&H as they are expecting stock next week. But I’ve heard that for months. So buy just the x2000. My only complaint with the camera is the low light, but it’s to be expected and is documented all over the web. For the price range, it’s still great for shooting my kids sports and drag racing. ... show more

    • Use for HD streaming
I bought this to stream HD videos. It offers clean HDMI and has quite an extension feature set. Maximum streaming resolution is 1080/60 but you can record 4K to an SD card. I originally bought a Canon XA11 (that I loved) but unfortunately it would not send an HD signal to my video encoding device. I returned it and got this one instead based on Panasonic's reputation for connecting with other devices. I rate this camcorder a 4 star because of its clunky menu access and navigation system. It works, it's just not as intuitive and accessible as the canon I had before this. Pluses. Excellent picture quality. Great zoom. Has all contemporary ports (HDMI, USB, 3.5 mm mic). Can record 4K,60 to an SD card. Works well with my external video encoders unlike the Canon this replaced. Minuses Expensive. Requires the battery be in to turn on even when externall power plugged in. Cheap power cord didn't last a month before I had to replace it. Less than $10 to replace, but considering the cost of the camera… ! Clunky menu system. Awkward placement of user defined buttons along the bottom of the camera body. ... show more
