It didn't have any smell to the fabric. It does block some sun and light but definitely does not block out light. [30"x84" Natural color] I LOVE these curtains, they're exactly what I wanted and fit my vision perfectly! Fantastic value, even if I'd paid full price ($20, on sale for $15). They don't block as much light as the listing pictures indicate, but I didn't buy them for that, and the touch of sheer-ness gives them a light and airy feel that I adore. The "natural" color is lovely, a nice, warm eggshell color that goes very well with the not-quite-white trim paint on the windows, without at all looking dingy or drab. The fabric has a really nice linen-like natural weave to it, as well, giving it a soft, pleasing texture. Our windows are really tall so I ended up hanging the (84") curtains pretty high, which left a gap at the bottom of about 9", but furniture blocks all the bottoms anyway so to me, they're perfect. They won't ever get caught in the vacuum, or collect dust bunnies being all bunched on the floor, so I'm really pleased with the length. And 30" is the perfect width for how I wanted to use them, just as accents just at the edge of the window frames. I wasn't sure about the loops, but they really help them drape nicely and give an attractive detail on the curtain rod. I washed and dried them (cold; low heat for about 10 minutes) to get rid of the package wrinkles and loosen them up a bit and they handled it beautifully. Can't say enough good things about these, clearly I've hit peak adulthood, being this thrilled about curtains! Get 'em while they're on sale!! ... show more
