The primary colors of paint are always a letdown after seeing the professional, nuanced paint jobs on the box. But this has more color options than other paintable projects, so that's a plus. The dragons themselves are crammed into the box, making the wings bent out of shape, so as an adult looking at it, I see low quality. Came with plastic gemstones, however, which were an immediate win with my 9 year old, and make up completely for the fact that he will probably never paint the second one. ... show more

I had so much fun painting a dragon with my niece! The only thing I would suggest is that you get some extra acrylic paint in the colors you want to use most. We ran out of black, blue, and green pretty quick and had to get creative.
