I started painted some plywood (OSB sheathing) with a roller on the smooth side. It looks good, but it was a lot of work and took a couple of days. Wanted to paint the bottom of the boards to protect them from moisture, and a buddy recommend to use a paint sprayer. I don’t have an air compressor, so I needed an electrical connection and decided to go with this one. It is a little bit of a learning curve because you may need to thin the paint (I used a primer) to get it to the desired viscosity. It does come with a little cup that helps, but after a few refills, it wasn’t an issue. I used the largest number tip and it worked better for the primer I used. Overall, I won’t be going back to rollers for this type of work.

I have painted 3 pieces of living room furniture and 2 bedroom dressers so far with good results. The thinning chart is suspect as I believe it makes some of the paints to thin and its splatters paint instead of a fine spray. Using Behrs furniture paint I didn't have to thin at all and it sprayed great.

Pros: Good spray control with a selection of nozzles. Easy to disassemble, reassemble, and clean after use. It takes time of course, but just running warm water through it in the end pretty well sets it up for future use. Cons: It's a little bit on the 'cheap fantastic plastic' side and the decals were peeling off while it was in the box.

When I first used the sprayer, I thought it did a great job. My time was cut tremendously using the sprayer when compared to hand painting. On the other hand, after about two hours of using the sprayer, it stopped working. I allowed the sprayer to rest for about twenty minutes., and it started again. After about 45 mins. of using the sprayer, it stopped working again and has not worked again since.
