I love hardwood outdoor furniture, but every other year I need to ‘refinish’ for waterproofing all my full set of chairs, benches and the dinner table, and usually involves a great work in preparation (cleaning and sanding) and applying a few layers of teak oil sealer, using just brush and rags, so it usually took hours to complete the task. Since I had to tackle this project once again, I figured this time around I’d find a better way to go about it so decided to give it a try with this HVLP Sprayer gun SPA8005. I confess that I’m a beginner, with very little experience with this kind paint sprayers, but I wanted (and needed) a faster method, and this HVLP sprayer gun changed the game, and made the job a lot easier. It took hours to apply teak oil sealer by hand. Instead, using this sprayer gun, I can apply an even coat all over one of the benches in just 10 minutes, then wiped off the excess with a rag, and just moved on to the next furniture. It took me just 2 days (one day sanding and prepping the wood), and just a couple of hours to apply the sealer to all the furniture, while before I needed 2 full weekends! A big-time saver indeed. This spray gun comes with several nozzle tips (different sizes to allow using broad range of coatings, paints and sealers), as well as including paper paint filters, cleaning tools, viscosity cup, plastic bags and all necessary elements needed to start painting right out the box. I will say that is not difficult to use it after assembled -which is intuitive and explained in details in the instruction manual and webpage-, however, it takes a little bit of trial and error with the settings to get a good, consistent spray pattern (probably depending of product used and viscosity); but once the spray gun is properly set (adjusting spray jets pattern, select the right nozzle, correct flow (volume) to apply; then it produces good, smooth layers and uniform coverage and with 700W blower motor it is powerful enough for this application. For example, to get the proper amount of sealer to flow from the sprayer gun, just ‘dial’ the amount of spray way back and then start increase it slowly until you get just enough spray flow with uniform pattern to cover an area in one pass. This gave me an excellent, nice coverage and even look. Also, it was relatively easy to disassemble it and clean, as it comes with a cleaning adapter, and the exposed part of the sprayer in contact with the sealer can be easily detached for cleaning. Overall, I think that this sprayer gun seems well built and has an excellent price, and is a valuable tool for any ‘DYIer’ or homeowner. For occasional use is an excellent option to have in your tool box: super affordable, and will pay by itself just with the first use. Great for any occasional user. Recommended. I am not a professional painter but we do a lot of home improvements ourselves so I wanted to give this a shot. It used to take a lot of time painting cabinets and furniture pieces but this helped cut the time by a lot! There is a learning curve if you're like me and have never really used one, but once you get the hang of it, you'll love it. Finding the right flow took the most time so the paint coats would be even. You do get a bit messy cleaning all the pieces after each use and I would recommend cleaning it before the paint dries otherwise it can be a pain.

I needed something simple and not at all complex because painting isn't my thing. I figured spraying the paint not only speed the process up but be real easy. Although, it's not as simple as I would like it but this machine made it simpler than it would have been with just a brush. The nozzle is adjustable giving you the option of how much paint comes out. Its also great for inside and outside painting. I used latex paint and it came out just fine. Not sure if other type of paints will work or not. I needed the cable to be longer but I just got an extension cord to help.

I have done a lot of painting in my lifetime and I think I am good at it. I had to repaint my bathroom and thought this is a good opportunity to test this and it would make the job easier and quicker. Well, it didn't. I am not saying that this doesn't work. I just couldn't make it work for myself. I had a different color underneath that I wanted to paint over. Although, I followed all the instructions and I am usually very handy with tools and any kind of equipment ( I do all the work around the house myself) I could not get the right volume flow. It didn't really cover the underlying paint. I tried to adjust the flow but it never really made a difference. Maybe it's just me, but I could not get an even application of the paint. I got frustrated and just used a roller which worked much better. And then the cleaning. That took a while, taking all the parts apart, washing them and then letting them dry outside. The tools for that that are included are very helpful, but it was messy. I have a yard and could rinse everything off with a hose after cleaning, but I don't know how that would work in an apartment or so. I am disappointed. I imagined that this would be a great and easy way to paint, but I am not sure if I will try it again.
