Well, this is the FIRST time in my LIFE (and I'm over 40) that I've EVER bought a scale... this is quite an amazing scale. I love the ergonomic design. It's relatively flat and can be stored away anywhere you'd like. I have not-so-good memories of scales being in bathrooms with a dial that just bobs back and forth when you step on it. Most of the time, the surface wasn't even FLAT! LOL!!! Well, this is a new day and (digital) age (robot/electric sounds in the background). I have a size 13 foot, and they fit well on the glass surface. I place the scale on a flat surface to get adequate readings, make sure it reads 0 first, then I step on up. When it's time for storage, I put it right back in the slim box it came in for upright storage in my closet... I don't care to weigh myself every day, maybe once every one-and-a-half to two months. For something that doesn't weigh a lot, it sure can give readings with a lot of weight! LOL!!! XD CAN YOU BELIEVE IT??!! I've never really caaaaared to walk into a groooooceryyy stoooooore and step on a scaaaale with more than just my underwear on... I'm grateful to be able to do that within the confines of my own home. Well, of course it's rewarding when the weight is where you'd like to see it. It's quite accurate and it won't lie to you like you would to yourself. So, if you're one burger shy of that weight you'd prefer not reaching? I am a big man, around the middle, and I have balance issues. Previous analog and digital scales were very difficult to read. The digital scale I bought some years back got to where it could not settle on a number, giving instead an error message. Dial scales can lose accuraacy if you bend forward to read them, throwing the scale off balance. This Ozeri scale settles within seconds, and the brightly lit analog dial and backlit LCD readout remain for several seconds after I step off the scale, giving me plenty of time to write down the number. With regard to accuracy, the scale has given readings within 1-2 lbs of the very expensive scales my doctors use, and doesn't require fiddling around adjusting to zero. Needless to say, the only thing that would make me happier would be consistently lower weight measurements. ... show more

I haven't had a bathroom scale since I was a boy living in my parents home - remember those metal spring-loaded scales with the needle on the dial that would jiggle depending on how you stood on it? I'm not a fan of totally digital scales - they just don't have a good feel to me - but I'm on a fitness kick and needed a scale to track my progress, and I liked the look of this with the big old-fashioned dial. It's a bit artificial the way the needle swings up - but it also reminds me of the gauges on my car - so that's pretty cool. The digital readout is easy to see - no need to stare down at the needle to figure out if we're at 177 or 178 today. I was also glad that it came with batteries - which I can switch out to rechargeable when the time comes. The only thing I'd prefer is if it had a handle at the lower end to pull it out from beneath my vanity where it lives easily. ... show more

My husband can't stand still for very long because of balance issues. His constant movements made it impossible to get a reading on our electronic scale, so I wanted to find one with a dial. This scale has a dial PLUS an easy-read electronic final number, and a large platform to stand on. There was a 3.8 lb. difference between this and my old scale, so I found a medical scale that was frequently calibrated. The new scale is only 0.2 lbs. different from the medical scale, but considering that they were not side by side, I'm accepting the new scale's weight as accurate as it needs to be for us. I purchased the cheapest scale and it gave erratic readings like 10+ pounds difference but I was still going to buy expensive batteries to see if that helped. But I lost it in hurricane Ian. So I bought this one and it's perfect. I stand on it repeatedly and the amount stays exact to the ounce.
