I recently compared this scale's readings against a medical-grade DEXA scan taken on the same day, and the results were much closer than I expected. Using the "Athletic" mode (I lift weights weekly), the Wyze scale was nearly identical to the clinical report for the key metrics: Body Fat %: Wyze read 18.5%, DEXA read 18.6% (0.1% difference). Lean Body Mass: Wyze read 141.1 lbs, DEXA read 140.8 lbs (after adjusting for bone mineral content). The only clear limitation I found was with limb symmetry. My DEXA scan showed a 1-3% difference in muscle/fat between my left and right sides, but the Wyze scale just assigned equal values to both. It doesn't seem to actually measure each limb independently but rather estimates an even split. The scale uses Bluetooth and Wi-Fi (2.4g only). I haven't had any connection issues. It will auto-detect users and update your readings in the Wyze app. I attached the comparison metrics to DEXA and what the primary report looks like when viewing your results. A word of caution: Since all BIA scales use electrical resistance and algorithms to guess your composition, your mileage may vary depending on your body type. However, for tracking trends, I found this to be a very reliable tool for the price.

This is my 3rd Wyze scale and I like it a lot. It easily connected to the app and my wifi/bluetooth. The scale and app works as promised. I created a detailed body report with good (better?) information. I can easily download the report, save it as a PDF, or print it on my printer. I can also take a screenshot of the report and save it to my photos. My only complaint is I can't access or save previous reports. The WYZE website says I could can contact them and they’ll show me how to access the old reports. I’m not doing that. This could be better if we could access the old reports without contacting WYZE, but I like what they’ve done so far.

(updated below) Not knowing that Wyze had just released an improved scale, I had a DEXA Scan done a couple days ago. The DEXA Scan is considered the industry standard for accuracy and, in the SFBay area, they are $110 per scan (w/o discounts). So how did Wyze do? I fed both reports into perplexity.ai and asked it to give me an analysis. *The Wyze scale provides very accurate body weight compared to DEXA. * The Wyze underestimates body fat percentage by about 2–2.5% and body fat mass. * Lean mass is slightly overestimated on Wyze but within a few percent. * Bone mass from Wyze is not a reliable match; expect overestimation compared to DEXA. (this may not be an apples to apples number though). * For visceral fat, DEXA is more precise and uses a standard measurement (pounds). Though DEXA can measure visceral fat directly, Wyze instead estimates using population-based algorithms that combine impedance data with personal information (age, sex, height, weight, etc.) * For detailed regional analysis, DEXA remains the gold standard, but Wyze’s segmental results are generally suitable for consumer tracking and progress monitoring. I'm not so interested in the segmented measurement so wonder if the handle sensors are critical. Perplexity suggests that this extended data collection with the handle enhances the overall accuracy due to the increased electrode contact points spread across the body, rather than relying solely on feet-based measurements. The net is that for the price of a DEXA scan, you can get a highly accurate at home unit that you can torture yourself at will. Note though, that Wyze doesn't look at bone density which can be a critical metric as you age. (1-29-26) Though I like Wyze a lot, I like the app of a dedicated health company with a competitive scale more - so I bought their version of a the wyze ultra with hand sensors fully assuming that I would return the wyze. It was $189 - so more, but I was willing to spend the money. What I found is that this new scale optimistically underestimated my fat % by 5%. When my focus is losing weight and maintaining muscle, having a scale that can hold to the DEXA scan is important. I'm returning the new, more expensive one.

Very inaccurate scale for fat % and okay for weight accuracy. I have a few good body composition scales as well as a high-end hand grip body composition device. They all have me at about 13% body fat but this new Wyze scale has me at 7.4%. I thought some of the other reviews might have been about misusing the scale or whatever, but I have these two scales side by side, and the Wyze scale is just plain wrong. How can you rely on something for your health that is so far below the actual measurement?? I am retuning this immediately and don’t recommend this scale. Check out the screenshots of weight and fat percentage for comparison.

This is an excellent scale. It does measure more things than the one you step on only. This one you grab with your hands and so you get more points to measure the weights of the extremities on this one. I found that it weighs heavy compared to other scales. I don’t think it really adds anything to the equation when you exercising and losing weight it cost more and doesn’t really help you improve physically it tracks while scale reads well it’s accurate and the but
