Description

The OXO SteeL Winged Corkscrew with Removable Foil Cutter is great for opening any cork-topped bottle. Turn the large, soft knob to drive the coated wire screw into the cork and raise the gear-driven wings. Push the wings down and watch through the Corkscrew’s cut-out window as the cork glides out of the bottle. When you’re finished, the Removable Foil Cutter snaps back into the Corkscrew’s base for simple storage. In addition to wine, the SteeL Winged Corkscrew is ideal for opening cork-topped bottles of oil, vinegar and more.

You can probably find cheaper corkscrews but this one is fun, it's easy to use and has classic styling. It's not as easy to use as one of those fancy Rabbit corkscrews but, honestly, I can't bring myself to spend a lot of money for just a corkscrew. After all, it really only has one job - take cork out. Well, take cork out IN ONE PIECE. Okay, two jobs: take cork out in one piece and make it easy so that when the cork finally gets loose I don't jerk my arm and hit somebody and knock over the bottle. Less than a year old (purchased 7/22/25) and it cracked today (4/12/26). OXO used to be an amazing brand but they lost their quality, last month returned a zester to Target that was so dull it wouldn’t zest. I didn’t use the bottle opener much, would say 20 times. Pure garbage.

    • It's Oxo and it is of course very sturdy!

Works well and is very well made. There are 2 minor cons. This replaced an older version I had for many years that "disappeared". I liked that one better. On the earlier version I could simply unwind the screw and the cork fell off. This one you have to stick 2 fingers up there, grab the cork and hold while you unwind. It's a little tight. #2 is the stand (cutter) as it has to stand somewhere. I don't' want it on a counter so stand it inside a cabinet. The original had the cutter on the top handle (no base) and could easily lay in a silverware drawer. If you use it a lot I guess it's not a problem. ... show more
