My metal spatula is always dirty so I wanted another one, but I couldn’t find the same one. I bought this as a back up. I really like how heavy and solid it feels, it feels incredibly sturdy. The only drawback I see (for how I use it) is that the front edge isn’t tapered at all. It’s blunt. So it’s not great for something like sliding under cookies on a baking sheet. But it’s fantastic for flipping and moving things around in my cast iron skillet. Or maybe serving lasagna (I think that’s more of what it is made for). Wow! Extremely sturdy and very handy for cutting and serving such things as lasagna, brownies, and other dishes that we like to serve in squares directly from the baking pan. I have an old utensil, similar in function, we've used for years and love having on hand. But the bakelite handle on that old one is starting to show some surface crackling and I was worried that it might crack or start crumbling away soon. After looking at dozens of options for a new one, this Oxo struck me as the most practical. Solid one-piece construction means we never have to worry about that handle issue again. I just wanted a narrower spat for serving casseroles, etc,. but this is a "quality feel" item that's comfortable to handle. It has a sharp enough edge to break up ground beef etc when sautéing, I'm loving it much more than I expected to

I was pretty disappointed with this server. I'd purchased this particular product 2 previous times and am thrilled with both of them. While I love the width and sturdiness of this server, unfortunately, the stainless steel/chrome coating is very thin and has already worn away in several places, resulting on rust-spots on the server when removed from the utensil rack of my dishwasher. I ordered this because I wanted a heavy duty spatula for smash burgers and I am not disappointed. There are wider spatulas out there marketed for smash burgers, but this one is great because it's easier to maneuver in a cast skillet than the larger traditional scrapers, but it's still sturdy enough to smash thin burgers. ... show more
