I purchased this soap dish to replace one about 5-years old and had seen better days... I recommend this for porcelain tile only as other porous tiles will not allow for the suction needed to hold a big bar of soap. This is a great product and I recommend it.

I used this suction shower hook in the shower to hang a shower mirror and disposable razor. My shower is a solid surface. I was careful to clean the surface with a bathroom cleaner and rinse it. Then I let the surface dry for over a couple of hours. I snapped the hook on and waited. Based on some reviews I was afraid it would immediately fall so I didn't put anything on it the first night. When it was still up the next day I put the mirror, still expecting that it would soon fall. Well, it stayed up with the mirror and a razor for over three weeks. I don't know what I should expect, but based on some of the reviews I felt over three weeks was pretty good so I gave it 4 stars. ... show more

I purposely waited to write a review based on past comments regarding rust. I now have had this soap dish in my shower for a few months. There is no visible rust. The beauty of this soap dish is you can position it out of direct water stream plus its nice looking.

We have two of these in our shower, not even directly getting hit with water and the little metal bar around it rusts. However, we still love them, they have great grip and you can't find many other shower cups like it.
