Description

Size:48"/120 cm OX Tools tradesman are designed to be extremely accurate and durable to handle all jobsite applications. They feature vials that are accurate to 0. 0005" over 1" or . 5mm over a meter. The shock absorbing end caps protects the level against drops. First off this is a nicely built level with easy to read vials. Unfortunately that doesn't help overcome the huge shortcoming of poor accuracy. I ordered a 78" model and it arrived with a missing end bumper and some nicks in the edge of the frame. It would help if the manufacturer did some kind of protective packaging. In fairness most of the levels you see in Home Depot and Lowe's are not protected either yet when your are selling through Amazon you better add some manufacturer packaging to prevent damage during shipping. The first level I ordered arrived in a box much to large for the level and there was a lot of room for movement which leads to damage during shipping. The missing end cap was not loose in the box so I can only assume Amazon shipped it without end cap. I am writing this mostly for the manufacturer's benefit. So I ordered a replacement but waited for it's arrival before shipping the first one back. When it arrived I checked both 78" levels against each other and was dismayed to find that in both the level and plumb positions both levels read a bit differently from each other. This led me to push things a bit farther in determining accuracy and so I used a plumb bob to create a perfectly plumb line which I also check with a laser level which lined up with the plumb line verifying my reference line. I then proceeded to test the accuracy of the levels for plumb. Only one of the levels was accurate in the plumb (vertical) position but not in the level (horizontal) position. The other level was accurate in the level position but not in plumb. As far as how far off...in level 3/16" of and inch in 78". For some people this might be acceptable but not in my book as I want as accurate a level as possible, which to me is perfect over that 78". The manufacturer did get it right on the other one so why not on both or all the levels they manufacture. The level that was off on plumb was off by closer to 1/4" which is totally unacceptable for door hanging. Good price, cool color, fairly well made and inaccurate...not a good value proposition for someone serious about accuracy and quality workmanship! ... show more

Very solid construction from aluminum and what I was seeking as an 8' straight edge - only improvement is I was hoping for more bubbles considering its 8' long - you have two verticals and the ends and only one horizontal in the middle. It was still half the price of the other options so I am happy - just sharing that their photos are accurate but improvement would be more level bubbles. ... show more

Bought this item 3 days ago at the price of $70.14. Now it dropped to $59.98...a whopping $10 difference...WTF??!? If this happened after a month or so, then I can understand due to the nature of depreciation but in 3 days?!!? Seems to me that the seller is obviously adjusting the price to maximize profit when demand is high, vice versa. Take my advise and stay away from this item because who knows, you may think you got a good deal today at $59.98 then comes tomorrow the price drops down to $39.99. You've been warned. But besides that, the item seems to be pretty sturdy and fairly straight and leveled. Item is 96 inches as described and made of decent quality aluminum frame. Hopefully it lasts. ... show more

I justified purchasing this 6' level as it will allow me to keep my current masonry project not only level but as close to perfectly straight without relying only with string and a plumb bob. Upon receiving it I gave it the reverse test and it passed with flying colors.4 I like to think of it as a valuable instrument as well as a tool. If you are looking for a long level for home projects, like cabinet work, this is a good choice. It is accurate, as far as I can tell, on level and plumb measurements. I'm sure it isn't the quality some professionals would prefer but I can't complain about he product.
