Update to previous review. With the help of family we assembled the rest of the chairs in record time. One of the chairs had a small crack in the armrest. As it sat in the sun while assembling other chairs the crack grew to about a 12 inch split in the wood. I immediately contacted the seller and forwarded a picture of the flaw while informing them I did not want to disassemble and return the chair. The seller quickly responded and sent me a replacement armrest. I received the new armrest several days later and have installed it. It’s a perfect match and I’m very impressed by the sellers response. 5 Stars! Thank you. I ordered 6 of the large chairs and I would’ve given these chairs 5 stars if I hadn’t seen some really nice vinyl ones at Costco for only $25 more. But they do not fold and that was a big seller for me. They were also an ugly gray color. There is a lot of criticism in the reviews about the finish and assembly difficulties. The finish is fair and they aren’t the smoothest but you won’t get splinters. The color is beautiful but I may spray them with a weather seal for added protection. Because they’re foldable I can easily put them under cover. As for the assembly it was like anything else you buy these days and very little except the seat was pre-assembled. Any moron can figure out the easy picture instructions. I put one together in less than an hour while wearing a sling on my right arm while recovering from extensive shoulder surgery. I hope to get some help with the other 5. I had to do no drilling, as others have noted, and only used a cordless drill with a Phillips head bit and the provided socket wrench. I did add some wood glue to the backrest frame joints to increase strength and hopefully longevity. Good hardware is provided as well. I wish they were a little bigger but they are comfortable for me at 6’-1” 275lbs. I would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a decent folding Adirondack chair.

Easy assembly. All hardware and parts were there. Only took me about 2 hours to assemble 4 of these. My only gripe is the styrofoam packing. It breaks down and gets all over everything. I gave them all two coats of spar varnish spray. They look great and are nice to sit in. Easy to get out of too.

I'm fairly handy with tools, so these were not difficult to assemble (although I did put two of the bolts in backwards for the first chair and didn't realize it until I assembled the second chair - they stuck out into the seating area for the first, but they were easy to take out and put back in the right way). I love that they're a bit roomier than other similar chairs - I can fold my legs underneath me when sitting in them. Six months in, they're a bit wobbly, but I think if I tighten the hardware, they'll be fine. They look beautiful, and everyone that has seen/sat in them has remarked how nice they are. And so much less expensive than others! I also brought them in the garage for the winter - we get some decent snow and I want them to last a long time.

This chair is beautiful and it is very comfortable to sit in. I love the wide armrests, perfect for setting a glass of iced tea on. It comes stained a beautiful walnut color and it is real wood and quite sturdy. You could paint it if you wanted to. If you plan to use it where it will be rained upon you might want to add a layer of weatherproofing sealant to it. I know that some Adirondack chairs have a mechanism that allows you to adjust the slant of the back of the chair, but this one does not have that option.I’m The only quibble I have about this, and the reason I removed one star, is the unfolding mechanics. When you unfold this chair the back brace scrapes along the back leg of the chair. You might try putting some wax along it to ease the pressure and friction.I’ve attached a photo where you can see how the integrity of the back brace was damaged when I unfolded the chair due to the brace scraping along the back leg. I fear that if the chair is folded and unfolded too many times the back brace will become splintered.

This is an update after having the chairs for just over a month. I purchased two of these chairs. The first one I assembled the arm of the chair cracked the first time I sat in it. The second seemed to have no problems and was comfortable. However, after using it for just over a month, it suddenly cracked a collapsed and injured my back. I did not lose any money on these as Solliwood offered me a full refund on the chair with cracked arm and also the chair the ultimately collapsed. I would not ever buy another Solliwood product.

We ordered eight (8) of these to put around an outdoor fire pit. They are well-built, sturdy, and comfortable to sit in. The first one took about 20 minutes to assemble, but after that we had it down to about 8 minutes with two of us working together. One person could easily assemble one also. We had a question about one of the chairs (which is why you only see 7 in the photo), and contacted the manufacturer using the email address included in the package. They responded promptly and helped us, so good marks for the support people. Overall, 5 stars for a great product at a great price!
