I’m very happy with the quality of this helmet. It is definitely comparable to higher end helmets in the $100 range at half the costs. I needed something for local rides on the scooter. For this price it can’t be beat. The color is nice and fits great. Light weight. It’s a little high over the ears but at the same time less bulky and more breathable then others. Also very happy it came with an additional mesh liner and soft chin strap. My old liner deteriorated which one of the reasons I need a new helmet. I recommend this product. I already owned the Elk MIPS ski helmet for riding in the extreme cold on my ebike, and found it to be exceptionally comfortable and perfect for my needs in temps down to -4F, so I was rather excited when I found this helmet had an impressive Virginia Tech rating. Between that, and the price, I was quite happy to find it fit perfectly on my remarkably large head. It's light, sits well, has good ventilation, doesn't restrict head movement, and looks pretty darn good. I commute 18 to 25 miles per day in all sorts of weather and conditions and have tried many different helmets that are priced much much higher that have all the lights and MIPS and other bells and whistles, this is by far my favorite for riding my Sirrus all over Kansas City from the cliffs over the Missouri, to the Plaza and many many points in between. ... show more

Bought this for my girlfriend. She loves it, comfortable, fits well, comes with spare insert pads and the color matches her bike. Girlfriend has a lot of hair, this works well in spite of that. Even came with a draw string carrying bag to keep things clean.

Helmet fits well comes with extra pads and a nice bag to put it in. Just started to use so don't know about how it will hold up but for the $$ it was a good buy. Seems to have all the safety features much more expensive helmets have! Only gave 4 stars because of the short time using!

My wife and I love the colors we selected. Build quality seems top notch, we do not expect any problems long term. They fit very comfortably and have great ventilation.     • Great mid-priced bike helmet

I am a recreational bike-rider, 20 to 25 mile rides on the weekends. I do not need a high end, name brand helmet from a bike shop. On the other hand I understand the importance of wearing a good helmet for protection, and as an engineer, I technically understand the importance of the shock absorption testing and certification which is what the MIPS is all about. I compared three helmets that claimed MIPS design: The Outdoor Master Gem, a Giro, and a Smith. All about the same price range between $40 to $65. The Outdoor Master was a clear winner for me. Pros: The internal foam absorption padding and the adjustment knob on the back of the helmet seem to be about the same in all three helmets that I compared. The differentiators were in the design and material quality of the internal webbing, adjustability, and chin strap, and also in the "look" of the helmet. The internal webbing and the chin strap in the Outdoor Master were clearly made of thicker material. The Outdoor Master came with two different sizes for the internal webbing which is easily attached to the internal helmet surface. The chin strap was also thicker and sturdier in this helmet, and it had a soft comfort cushion wrapped around the part of the strap that fits under the chin--a very nice addition which the others did not have. The external knob allows easy adjustment of the snugness of the webbing around your head--it is important to note that the webbing allows some designed movement between your head and the helmet, which is part of the designed protection (at least I think it is). The helmet has a removable visor which I think is essential. Finally, this helmet has a sleeker aerodynamic look to it compared to the more spherical look of the other helmets which I didn't care for. Cons: I haven't found any negatives yet, but I have only taken this helmet out for a couple of rides. Overall, very satisfied with the helmet which was packaged very well, with its own string bag, and extra webbing. I think it is an excellent value. Certainly I think any of these helmets in this price range with the MIPS certification are going to be more than good enough for the recreational rider, but I found distinct differences in the materials and in the look, glad I did some comparisons (that's where the free returns comes in real handy.) ... show more

For the price (around $40) I cant imagine you can find a much better helmet. I have a much more expensive Smith Engage helmet that I really like and use for mountain biking but the Outdoor Masters helmet is actually lighter and more comfortable. I took the visor off and use this one for road/gravel riding. I love that it comes with MIPS and even comes with 2 felt chin strap pads which is a nice feature that more helmet need. I wasnt sure which color I orginally wanted as I like the look of a lot of them. I ended up trying both the Midnight Blue and Aqua Blue. Stuck with the aqua blue which is more of a light cement gray- its pretty sharp looing! For a rather unknown company to make such a nice helmet that comes with MIPS for around $40 is very impressive.
