I will leave my 65 qt on the deck of my boat in the sun all weekend and it will still have ice cold water and some ice by Monday or Tuesday if I check on the boat after work.     • So Worth the Money for Long Trips
We did a lot of research before choosing between a Yeti and an Orca. The Orca’s ability to keep ice cold for the longest amount of time beat all the other coolers on YouTube video we watched. We keep our cooler at our cabin and we only need to drain and add ice around Day 6. We used to have to run every two days to get ice with our Coleman, so this is a huge win! We are considering getting a second one, but smaller, to keep all of our drinks in because we love it so much! Only thing I wish it had were wheels built into it.     • Better than Walmart but worth the money?

I purchased an Orca 58qt rotomolded cooler hoping it would perform better than the Grizzly cooler I purchased about 6 years ago. I watched dozens of cooler tests on youtube. I thought I'd get an Engle but determined I wanted Made in the USA and I thought maybe the Orca had better insulation than the Griz. it finished high in all the tests. But apparently the Orca is no better than the Griz. First time out I used it like most typically would. I put warm sodas, beers and waters in a non cooled cooler. I added 20 lbs of ice. 20lbs covered all my drinks but the cooler could have held another 20lb bag but my contents would be buried. As the day progressed we opend the cooler dozens of times. At first it seemed to really be holding the ice. It was a 90 degree + day in Florida. We left the cooler in the boat. By that evening there was 3-5 inches of water and about 40% ice left. The cooler remained closed through the night an into the next day. By the following day, a little over 24 hours from placing 20lbs of ice in it, it was gone! Nothing! The water was still quite cold as were the drinks but there was no ice to be seen. I realize in the multi day tests they start with a cooler packed with ice. But is that how the normal everyday user will use it? Anyway, I really did my homework and I stand by built in the USA! However, I'm assuming none of the high end rotomold coolers are going to "hold Ice for days" when they don't start that process packed to the brim. ... show more

DOES NOT KEEP ICE. Nice color and feels solid. However only kept ice for a day and a half. Put ice in on a friday evening and by Sunday noon it is water. Definitely does not hold ice for as long as advertised. I also pre-chilled with a 10lb bag of ice and still didn't keep ice. Very disappointed.

Great cooler! After the Yeti 65 I purchased wouldn't hold ice for more than 3 days, I bought an Orca 58qt. What a difference! I dont know if it holds up to the advertisement claims, but it held ice for 5 days on my sun porch and it still had some ice and cold water in it after 7. A significant improvement over the Yeti! And it has a lifetime warranty, unlike Yeti's 5 year, it's actually made in the USA unlike what Yeti claims, and ot was cheaper to buy than a compatible Yeti! I ended up buying the basket for it, which cost me another $26, but it was still cheaper than a comparable Yeti, and the Orca actually works! ... show more

Kept the ice almost all there for Saturday and Sunday, our weekend trip. When full, this cooler does get heavy, I am an older guy and my wife is small, but we didn't have to look for ice. We love the color, we think the brighter colors might help when under the sun, the 2 days were in the 90"s and the surface never really got hot. Perfect would have been a little lighter and a little smaller, it will only be used by the both of us. Love the lifetime warranty and the net behind the cooler for small things. ... show more

I re-tested the cooler using store bought ice and filled it to the top. I used 4 x 10lb bags of ice. Now, there is still frozen ice inside after 6 days, much better than when I used ice from my home ice machine. I think store ice is much colder, and/or you need to fill the cooler to the top. After 3 days, most of the ice was still there, and after 6 days, there's still about 1/4 of the ice inside. I wish the manufacturer had told me to use store ice and fill the cooler to the top.
