Initial Review December 1 2023 -- I will update this after I've had the opportunity to use the PY SUPER MODE Hooded Outdoor Blanket in a wider variety of activities. At the outset, I'm very pleased and think it strikes a good balance between weight and warmth. I did not stress-test its waterproofing, but I can confirm that with fluffy-but-slightly-wet snow, it seemed easily up to the task of shrugging off the snow. My first test was to walk outside in freezing night weather (31F / -1C, light winds, light snow) with the hood up, holding the blanket around me, while wearing a light sweater, jeans, and running shoes. The blanket easily made a big difference in my comfort level -- after 5 minutes of walking around and standing around, I still felt comfortable enough to be willing to stay outside. Then I uncrossed my arms to open the blanket and immediately felt colder and colder, enough that I wanted to go inside after barely 30 seconds. Just from this initial test, I'm excited about the prospect of trying this out at sporting events (sitting in the cold bleachers or standing on the sidelines of my kids' soccer games will be MUCH improved this spring), camping, picnics, outdoor concerts, and more. It will definitely keep us much warmer at these events. Don't go thinking it's some all-purpose outerwear, though. You're not going to wear it walking to school or the train station for your morning commute. But maybe you'll pull it on before or after you run your Christmas 5k and you're waiting for your friends. So having spoken about the core benefit, here is some of the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly: GOOD: - It's warm - It feels very fuzzy - It looks great - It's reasonably waterproof - Big enough to wrap around a tall/large person. I'm 6' tall and there's a good 4"-6" beyond each of my hands to wrap them up in. BAD: - You do have to hold it around yourself if you're going to stand up with it. - There are no hand-grips or pockets or anything to help hold it onto you. Could they sew in little triangle pockets for the hands? That would be awesome. - The elastic straps that hold it into a roll are a VERY tight fit. It's a bit of a fight to get this thing back into them. - The carry strap (and elastic straps) are pretty low-cost and will probably break or wear out before the blanket material, which feels like a much higher quality fabric and construction. - The first one I received had a manufacturing defect where part of the hood had been accidentally stitched into the pocket and was unusable. I used Amazon's return procedure and they had a replacement to me the next day so I'm not going to deduct any points for this. Defects happen and this was easily remedied. - The hood is quite large which is nice for coverage but means that you have to be about 6' 4" if you want to just dangle this thing from your head like a cloak and not have the rest of it dragging on the ground. BUT this isn't a big deal because I really wanted to hold it around me all the time anyway. UGLY: - Haven't really found anything yet. I will update my review if I run into anything. As it is, I'm actually going to give this 5 stars because it does a great job at what it's supposed to do, which is being a warm waterproof blanket that you can wrap around you and have a little extra protection with the hood and a little better portability with the carry+bundle strap. (Note that I'm a Vine reviewer and received this free to review. However I expect I will happily use this for years).

Really nice blanket. Although I have not had it out in a huge rainstorm it does seem to bead up water and shed it off. It is warm, good enough size to keep you warm while sitting in the bleachers watching a football game, and is holding up nicely with the usage it has been getting.

After taking forever looking at camp blankets and deciding I just couldn't afford the prices on some, I took a chance on this one. I managed to score 2 of the pink/green ones for about $11 a piece. My youngest daughter is in track and living in Minnesota where the weather can be unpredictable, it's nice to keep things like this in the car. So glad I got them!!!! The other night, though it was about 67°, there was a terribly cold wind that came up during the meet, which left all us spectators freezing. Unlike some people who had worn all out winter jackets and hats, we had not, but I busted out these blankets and honestly, without them, we could not have tolerated the cold wind. These things truly ARE windproof. I was wearing just a tshirt and capri leggings and with one of these around me, I was warmer than another member of our family who had layered shirt, hoodie and was covered with a regular blanket. Immediately, I ordered 2 more so that we can all have one. They are a bit stiff at first, so I washed them on gentle cycle in my machine then dried them on tumble/low heat with some wool dryer balls to help soften them up a bit. It worked quite well and I imagine they will just continue to get softer with use. I plan to pack these for every camping trip, sporting event, outdoor concert and they will be used here at home for backyard bonfires. Yes, there are better blankets out there but for such a low price tag, these are a steal! Grab a few while they're available!

We have really liked these blankets for camping. Their thickness and durability make them very warm and usable. The good is a joke, I wish it wasn’t there and it detracts from the value of the blanket because it’s so gimmicky. And I doubt we’ll figure out how to roll it back up to use the handle but that might be an intelligence issue as much as anything. Bottom line is we find these to be great for any outdoor use.

This blanket kept me warm during the cold, wet nights this weekend while camping. The only issue was that its slick outer material kept wanting to slip off the bed. I've also used it as a throw blanket on the couch and it was very cozy. The snaps and the single buckle along the edges allow you to wrap yourself in it and wear it like a cape, or even use it like a sleeping bag. We didn't use it outside the tent, but the outer material feels like it would repel water and be easy to clean. Definitely, this is a very good value for this warm and versatile blanket.

I wasn’t sure about this purchase but after taking it hiking it was perfect. Easy to pack away, comfortable, and I used it as a picnic blanket and didn’t have to worry about it getting dirty because it just brushes off.
