The little “S” pieces (pictured) are supposed to go onto the upright bars to hold the units together. There is no way in this lifetime or this particular universe that these teensy little gizmos would fit; they’re vastly too small and simply pop out of your fingers (repeatedly) (honestly, repeatedly) and fly across the room. I have no idea what the bundled spindly objects are meant to do. They don’t appear as a picture in the parts diagram; and since there are zero instructions—just pictures of what the finished product is supposed to look like—I had no way to make sense of them. Truly incredible. However, I did stick the wire units in the ground individually (next to each other but not attached to one another) and achieved some semblance of a barrier around the hydrangeas where Miss Fluffy Dog, who leaps around as if she’s 2/3 baby goat, races fervently, tearing off the delicate leaves while chasing squirrels. I did this procedure after a good rain so the ground was nice and soft, working while thunder rolled and more rain started to fall; and I’m pretty pleased with the results. The units are almost invisible as I was hoping so they don’t block the view of the plants. All in all, this purchase worked out well except for the stress of trying to figure out what to do with the weird parts that wouldn’t fit or those that made no sense. The doggie’s name is Mia, and she’s an Old English Sheepdog, in case you’re curious. :o)

These are easy to install and did the trick of keeping my dog out of my plants. He's nervous though so if you have a more eager dog they would jump right over. They are a little flimsy and bent when I had to hammer a little to install but overall a good product for the price.

This fencing may not keep all the critters out of your garden since it isn't as fine as chickenwire but it looks nice and is fairly easy to put together. It's also durable enough to last two-three seasons if you live somewhere with three season and plan to store in the winter months.
