Yet, Our Modern Space defied those expectations with their height-adjustable electric standing desk. It's not only electric but operates with a smoothness that belies its price tag, albeit a tad slowly. The desk accommodates a range of heights comfortably, even proving suitable for my 6'5" son in its standing configuration. The construction feels robust, thanks to reasonably thick metal components. So, where does the cost-cutting manifest? Initially, I mistook the desk's material for bamboo, a misconception corrected upon closer inspection. The surface is actually made from a blend closer to particle board or OSB, covered in a vinyl layer printed with an artificial oak pattern. Despite this, the material choice doesn't detract significantly from the overall value. Assembly was unexpectedly straightforward, taking around 50 minutes from unboxing to operational, with much of that time dedicated to unwrapping each carefully packaged part. The instructions utilize clear pictographs and labeled parts for a hassle-free process. While the kit includes a rudimentary tool, I'd suggest using a proper Phillips screwdriver for convenience. The hardware and fasteners, neatly organized on a reference card blister pack, ensure you have everything needed without reaching for your toolbox. The desk's design incorporates a two-piece top to minimize shipping dimensions, resulting in a horizontal seam across the work surface. This split is barely noticeable during typical use, such as typing or using a mouse, but may require adaptation for activities like writing directly on the desk. Overlooking the budget-conscious choice of materials, this desk remarkably exceeds expectations for its price point. It's a testament to Our Modern Space's ability to deliver functionality and user satisfaction without breaking the bank. We just received the adjustable standing desk from Modern Space Store, and it's been a mixed bag. The split desktop design was a surprise - not a deal-breaker but something to think about. We had to pull out some goo remover due to the sticky residue left by the part labels. Assembly was okay, took us about 45 minutes, but we ditched the included tools for something stronger to get the job done. The highlight? The desk's motor is quiet and smooth, a big plus for us. The size is a bit on the small side, but it works, and the built-in cord management is a neat touch. Overall, for the price, it's decent. It’s not the sturdiest desk out there, but it does the job of switching between sitting and standing pretty well. A good pick if you're looking to try out a standing desk without spending too much.

I am a huge fan of this desk! It was so easy to put together, only took about an hour to set up & the instructions were incredibly easy. The electrical setup was also easy. Once it was up, and in place, the buttons make it very easy to maneuver up and down. They’re located conveniently on the right side of the desk. As you can see from my photo, it easily holds every bit of technology I need in my work from home job (with enough room for my cup of coffee and any papers necessary). The two tears in the back are especially nice, not only does it allow my monitors a little lift to relieve the pressure on my neck, but it also allows for a little bit of storage underneath. I am super thrilled with this desk and highly recommend it for anyone interested in an optional standing desk!

It's a lot to assemble with the illustration-only instructions. Once I figured out how everything went together, the final result it very useful and nice, for the price. It could be sturdier, but that built-in riser for monitors/shelf is a very nice added feature. Goes up and down for ergonomic bliss and I'm happy to have scored this.
