I’ve been using black soap for years, and this one from Earth’s Secrets is my go-to. It has a lot of great qualities that keep me coming back. First, it’s actually made in Africa, so it’s the real deal. It’s all-natural and doesn’t contain unnecessary ingredients like added fragrances or harsh chemicals. People can react differently to black soap, and it can affect skin in different ways. For me, I have fair and sensitive skin, but black soap works really well. It helps reduce acne and ingrown hairs and leaves my skin feeling soft and refreshed. That said, black soap isn’t the most moisturizing. It can dry your skin out if you use it too often, but I’ve found that following up with a good lotion takes care of any dryness. This product is versatile and can be used in different ways depending on your skin type. Personally, I cut it into smaller bars and use it with a washcloth. I wouldn’t recommend using it like a typical bar soap since it can contain small, hard pieces. Lathering it in a washcloth works much better. I also like the natural scent and the way it leaves my skin feeling—clean, soft, and refreshed. The 1 lb bar lasts me several months, so it’s a great value. If you’re looking for a quality black soap or thinking about trying one, I definitely recommend this.

Natural antibacterial soap!

I use this African Black Soap daily in the shower with a washcloth, and it's become essential in my routine. I used a different brand before, but now I keep coming back for this one! I enjoy how it lathers up with the washcloth and leaves my skin feeling clean and refreshed. My skin doesn't feel dry from daily use, though I still apply lotion immediately after my showers. My mom introduced me to African Black soap during my teenage years when I was dealing with acne. I used it back then, forgot about it in my early adulthood, but now I’ve returned to it and am loving its natural antibacterial benefits! A helpful tip I’ve discovered is to divide the 1 lb. bar into three parts. I keep one piece in the shower, while wrapping the other two separately in plastic wrap to maintain their freshness and prevent drying out. This approach also makes handling the large bar simpler and allows me get the most use. I’ve truly been pleased with this soap and really appreciate that the 1 lb. bar lasts quite a while. It’s become a staple I enjoy every day, and I definitely plan to keep buying it.

Real Deal Stuff !!! PLEASE READ

GUYS. So I’ve been using this brand of soap since like April ish of 2019 and I haven’t looked back. I originally bought it for my eczema (back of my knees) and light acne (light acne meaning a few bumps here and there every blue moon no major acne condition) and found that it worked well for both conditions. I will give a warning though: when you first use this soap (this may or may not apply to everyone) it will hurt and burn like hell. For my acne, it was like addressing the elephant in the room. It opened my acne spots up, it made my bumps red and a lil bloody but that was okay. Like life, things get really bad before things get really good. It addressed my acne right away and made it raw and vulnerable. I was like wtf lmao. So I let my face rest for a few days and only very very light and gentle water rinsing since my skin still felt very raw. After that when my acne started to scab up and die I was just able to wipe it away after 2-3 days and I was glowing. I loved it. But yeah your skin might react strongly then it gets used to it with consistent use. I used it on my body and hair as well. Now I will say that I feel like it has a really strong acidic ph (which could explain the burning reaction) so I decided to one day combine the soap with black seed oil (amazing herbs brand) and make a lil multipurpose wash. I did 3 parts liquified soap to 1 part black seed oil and that was EVEN BETTER. Those two products compliment each other very well and it basically healed my severe eczema. I washed my body with it and moisturized with yellow Shea butter. Dassit. And another thing I’ll say, this combo really is multipurpose. I use it to wash my hair (black soap is extremely clarifying, add BSO for a good clarifying eczema wash, or add another type of oil (olive, castor, coconut, etc.) for a clarifying, moisturizing, and curl defining hair wash) I wash my body piercings with it (the combo helps to cleanse and heal the piercings wayyy faster DONT SLEEP ON THIS), and I use it as an everyday body wash. This soap makes me feel so clean and my skin so healthy and leaves no scent (even though I do like the earthy smell of the soap) and it just has so many healing properties, and LADIES it doesn’t throw off my vaginal ph like most commercial scented soaps do. I truly love this stuff so much. One more thing, when I get the occasional wound/cut/scrape I would first put a little black seed oil on there to start the healing process and kill the germs (BSO has antibacterial/fungal properties) then when I shower i use the combo. Put Shea butter on it and just keep doing that until it’s fully healed. No nasty scars, no scar tissue (scab) formation, heals beautifully. This soap is truly truly truly amazing and I will NEVER stop using this!!!!

Finally Found Something That Works!

I used to have a lot of acne, and my friend recommended this product because it worked so well for her. I decided to give it a try, and after buying it three times, I started seeing great results. My skin looks much better, and it didn’t change my skin tone. I’m definitely buying it again!

I’ve tried out tons of soaps, and I always come back to this one. A lot of soaps out there seem really gimmicky, relying on advertising when in reality they’re just more chemically-loaded products that don’t seem to do much.. but not this soap. Firstly, it smells amazing. It’s hard to explain what it smells like, but if I had to say something I would say it makes you smell clean. So clean that by the end of the next day and I’m about to shower I’ll wonder if it’s really necessary because I still smell good. (I still shower). This soap does not dry me out, and being I’m always rushing to get ready and hate putting on lotion so rarely do, my skin doesn’t suffer because of it. It feels like quality soap, it lathers up super nicely and rinses off clean. Don’t be put off that it looks like a huge brick of earwax, I cut a bar off and keep it in a ziplock bag; each bar lasts a good three weeks. It’s important to keep it enclosed in something, if you leave it out it dries out and falls apart faster. Also I use it on my face and even scalp sometimes, not sure if it’s meant for that but being it’s so good for my skin I can’t see it hurting any. You may need to adjust to it at first but try this soap!

I absolutely love this soap and how it cleans my skin. I bought it a few years ago and loved it so much I’ve continued buying it since. This is REAL black soap, it’s mailable when wet and even straight out of the package. It gently exfoliates and makes me feel LITERALLY squeaky clean!!! Use as the instructions direct and don’t apply the bar right onto your skin. because it’s all natural there’s some abrasive pieces and it will scratch you if you’re not careful. I love how long it lasts me, one pound bar will last me at least 3 months. I cut my bar into 10 pieces, which helps lengthen how long it lasts. This soap is almost pure shea butter so it’s amazing with moisturizing.

Do not store in a closed container

I’ve had this soap since 4/27/22 and it’s been ok I guess. It is extremely harsh on the skin at first and I almost contemplated throwing it away but I wanted to see my results. I experienced burning and redness to my upper, outer cheek area just underneath my eyes, and some welting of my skin at first. I don’t know if I’m storing it correctly but this soap leave a gummy residue wherever you lay it down after you’ve used it. I store my entire bar of soap in a plastic Tupperware container and it has become extremely gummy and goey like a sticky play dough texture but I refuse to throw it away. That’s the only part I don’t like. It’s a HUGE BAR and I feel I could’ve cut the soap into small pieces but I felt that’s too much work. I just lather the bar in my hands first and rub my hands on my face and use a white washcloth on my face. I could have stored this soap in my shower caddy , but again it would have still become gummy and gooey after a while. Whatever ingredient that makes it get like that may need to be tweaked, or maybe the condensation in the bathroom or water may be causing it.
