I scrunch one pump of this into the hair on each side of my head (so two pumps total) while my my hair is wet and then let it air dry and it gives me really pretty waves. I like to put a little of the olaplex bonding oil on after and my hair looks amazing and shiny, with fairly low effort. I've been trying to make my tight waves look like curls, and this product is absolutely essential to that transformation. It's the lightest mousse I've ever encountered, and it scrunches in to wet or damp hair super easily. It distributes uniformly, doesn't leave a gross residue, and when your hair finally dries, it isn't hairspray-level-crunchy. I have long, thin, fine hair and it always looked very flat and frizzy. I recently established that I may actually have wavy/curly hair and wanted to try to embrace it. This product was recommended on a reddit thread to use as part of the curly girl routine. I applied a generous amount of this product and into soaking wet hair and scrunched it then wrapped in a microfiber towel. Let it sit for about 30 minutes then took the towel off. Parted my hair how I like it and let it air dry from there. My waves turned out BEAUTIFUL and held all day long. It basically looked just like it does if I sleep with braids in and take them out the next day but a little curlier. I was looking for something to help my long wavy hair look more presentable post shower and combing. It tends to frizz and puff in this southern US humidity. I have A LOT of fine wavy hair. It is thick in density, not texture. I don’t blow dry, I plan my hair washing days in advance as it takes almost a full 24 hrs to dry and then if I comb my wet or dry hair, my natural pretty waves turn into frizz and puff. I wanted this product to help my hair maintain it’s pretty shape that it gets post shower, pre combing. This did NOT work for me. I applied exactly as directed, with towel dry hair and after combing. It was not dripping wet at all. I applied several pumps throughout my hair, 10 in all and did some mild scrunching (I’m an 80s baby and an early 2000s teen - I know how to scrunch and crunch). It had shape and looked good for about 5 minutes immediately after scrunching then just got worse and worse. My hair fully dried and still the length and weight made it fall flat. Mousse just isn’t a styling product that works well on thick hair and this was no different. Pros: Pleasant scent No crunchy texture Looked natural in hair Easy to wash out Cons: Took a lot of product to use in longer/ thicker hair Never added volume or depth to my waves Fell flat and got worse outside in humidity Did NOT help with frizz at all Expensive, even when bought on Prime Day TLDR - save your money and try a different product if you have thick hair ... show more

AMAZING! Im a cosmetologist and really don't believe much about brand name or high price hair products. You can find much cheaper alternatives with basically the same "recipe" or ingredient list but I've been hearing about this product for awhile now so I decided to watch a few reviews on youtube and the results looked amazing so I decided to take the plunge and spend the money, I guess I probably could have returned it if I didn't like it once it arrived but anyway I order the Ouai Wave Spray and the Ouai Air Dry Foam.
