I love this otter symmetry case! I have dropped my phone so many times and so has my 4yr old. It’s been dropped on cement flooring, hardwood flooring, and tiles, the case did get beat up, but it saved my phone from even getting a dent, scratch, or shattered glass. I was iffy to get this case b/c I know iPhone Xs are made of glass front and back, but I didn’t want a bulky case. So I took my chance on this one, and I was so happy I did. You can charge your phone on a wireless charger easily with this case. Also, it’s slim enough to fit in your pocket. I chose this case b/c it had a hint of glitter in it and it looks beautiful in light, and also b/c it’s not so bulky. The buttons are easy to push for volume up and down. I liked the case so much this is my second time purchasing it. The first one lasted me 1 1/2 year. I purchased a new one b/c it does turn a little yellow on the sides, however with the rose gold color phone I have, it was hard to tell. And it can get little scratches on the case from keys but they are hard to see since this case is beautifully made clear with a dust of glitter. I highly recommend this case. I also parred this case with a screen protector by invisible shield glass+. The duo worked out perfect for me especially how many times I and my 4yr old have dropped it hahaha.

Great protection and a unique flair!

I ordered the clear/silver glitter case and I was originally sent the completely clear case instead (which was lovely and very clear). I ended up returning and repurchasing for the right one. Now that I have the case I wanted originally, I love it. It’s very sturdy and protective, so much so that it’s not a case you will want to remove often. If anything, I find that more reassuring as my phone won’t slip out in case of a good drop. I will say that the buttons are a bit of a press now, but unless you’re really using the volume buttons to take photos quickly, I don’t see this being a huge issue. Even then, it’s not stiff to the point of being an inconvience. Many other reviewers have said that this case yellows/oxidizes over time, but I honestly cannot comment to that fact. I work in food so I often find my case dirty some way or another and other cases have quickly turned yellow on the bottom sides. This case hasn’t so far and I’ve had it for over a month. Time will tell I guess. Overall, it’s a perfect case for a reasonable price! It’s even more worth it if you’re planning to put pictures or polaroids in the back as the sparkles make it POP (but not in a tacky way).

Pretty glitter that I love!

Gorgeous multi-layered silver glitter set in the clear case! I often stop and look at the back fo my phone, moving it around in whatever light I’m in to see it sparkle :) I’ve had for about a month and I would recommend you take your phone out and clean it every so often, that seemed to stop what yellow I thought I saw forming or coming through. My few complaints: it’s very hard to take your phone out of the case, which is a compliment to the security that it holds your phone in with. Also, the back can get scratched kinda easily and it is starting to show some minor wear and tear with that. To be fair I am super rough with my phone. Finally, the phone is kinda slippery against fabrics which is good for slipping into your pocket but bad when your laying on your bed and it keeps sliding off the makeshift stand you’ve made for your phone out of blankets. Overall, I really love the look and functionality of this case and will probably repurchase whenever (if ever!) I need to!

Works for what matters most!

I got this when my old case failed on my iPhone XS because I was sick of buying cheap, off the wall brand cases and wanted something a bit more. I have always known the name Otterbox but never had a product from them really over the years. Well, I gave this case a shot, and I am happy I did! In the photos, it looks like a solid light blue in color, which is not the case. It actually is light blue with red splotches all over it. This took me a little aback, but I have grown to like it and think it makes the case stand out that much more. It fits my XS perfectly and protects it really well. Not only that, but it also looks dang snappy too! About the only gripe I can give it is the back of it is a flexible clear plastic that tends to get scuffed up with regular use. I have never dropped my phone and haven't had really grubby fingers (as I so often do because I work on mechanical stuff!), so I don't know exactly how the back on mine has gotten so scuffed up in the short time I have had it. But, better the case than the back of the phone! Am I happy I got this? Absolutely! It works as intended and tends to add a stylish look to my phone. As far as durability? Well, that remains to be seen with the back, but it seems to be holding up pretty well so far. I expect to have this on there for another 6 months to a year. Well, that is, if the phone lasts that long!

Poor Quality in Materials & Workmanship

I purchased this at the end of January 2024, and installed it at the end of January/start of February when I received it. It was excessively difficult to get the phone inserted to this unit. The backplate does not flex AT ALL, putting all the stress on the connection between the plate and the softer, *slightly* flexible sides. I had to remove this cover today, 19 May 2024, to have the battery replaced. I could not get the cover off the phone without the softer sides completely ripping away from the back plate. The completely inflexible nature of the back plate guarantees that insertion/removal stresses go the one exact place they should not go. It should be possible to remove the case at least once or twice before it breaks. Whoever designed this should be fired; whoever ok’d the design should likewise be fired. Way to **** it up, OtterBox. They do not appear to even acknowledge this specific cover on their website and, honestly, the shipping they would almost certainly charge me if they DID honor a warranty claim would likely be more than the whole contact-claim-pay-wait-for-replacement would be worth in time and money to me. As their overpaid executives probably intend, it isn’t worth my time to reach out to a live person to see what is actually going on. I’ve used OtterBox products on my phones since the iPhone 5, but this experience was so beyond wrong I am going to seriously rethink continuing to purchase their products. ETA: I have purchased this case https://a.co/d/2oRA9DB — an Otofly basic silicon affair. It snapped right on easily unlike the OtterBox subject of this review. It’s still early for the new case, but so far it compares favorably to this OtterBox failure. 1 August 2024 Update: The Otofly case I noted in my previous update has been performing admirably since its installation. I have had no issues with it so far, though I will also add I try to be aware of the thin material at the Lightning port (charging/accessory port). The design of the iPhone X, itself, makes this issue inescapable, so it isn’t a case design issue so much as a “might need to be aware of this” issue. IDK honestly know if this specific material would be more prone to failure at this spot on this case for this reason or not. It is just something I have seen occur even on more robust cases.
