UPDATE: So about after a week or so my inside screen started blacking out and wouldn't work after being open for about 20 seconds. So I was about to make a repair claim to Samsung., long story short: I took the case off and now the phone is working perfectly. It must be pinching the phone somewhere??? Not sure. I plan on cleaning up the case and trying again. If that doesn't work I will have to find a different case. Great case. Love it protects the charging port below the phone. Makes the fold open screen way more user friendly to open and use compared to slimmer cases. Only fault I notice is the raised sides make it hard to type when the phone is shut.     • Not what I was expecting from OtterBox....

I've been a fan of otterbox for a while, they make great cases that work for the product greatly. But maybe this design wasn't the best tested and the best looking with functionality and durability in mind. Usually all the words I just said are what make otterbox so great, but not with this case..... First and foremost the price, the price on this compared to previous otterbox releases is like night and day, sure a more complicated design but still this price doesn't cut it with all the flaws. Flaws like when ever I open the case it feel like and looks like the device is being restricted by the case and its not fully opening the fold phone, it's not flat. Looks like it's restricting the whole thing and making it not be fully flat as it should, like its squeezing the screen. The back hinge/side hinge (depending on if u have it open or not) that protects the folding part of the phone is constantly moving and is annoying due to that fact and makes noises when using thr phone. Then comes the hinges, I understand they need to be higher to properly protect the phone, but these are just too much, its extremely hard too press corner buttons and even swip down from the top part or any side of the phone for swiping, making functionality hard to even be accessible. Other models didn't have this issue.... Next we have the side buttons, these side buttons are just terrible, previous modules have buttons not as sharp(they were thicker, ik thats harder on a smaller device; but i compared and they arent that much different , just a different design choice looks like, and cheaper) they were previously nice so they were easier too press. On this model the material is rough and plastic like; other models had more grip too them and softer material, which complimented the phone, these just stick our like a sore thumb honestly and feel cheap like they can snap off. And don't feel great too press. Then the back of the phone, you can mke the back "thicker" cause the layering of the back looks bad, super high hinges too protect the back camera great!! However its not flush with the rest of the phone, its like having a high cliff , then it instantly drops down, make it more flush if you can (camera protector alight with back of phone) that just make this back of the case look terrible Any benefit i would i say Is the usb c protection on the button is a much better seal then previous models that was a step in the right direction. Other than that not really happy with this purchase, maybe a bad one idk, or just not a "otterbox" experience I was expecting after ther previous exemplary models. I really gave it a try too see if it would grow on me but it didn't, this doesn't feel like an otterbox case too me idk. If next model is like this, sounds like a pass as of right now, hopefully not too much criticism, but I had too point out the differences from other model cases from otterbox that represents the name well, this case not so much sadly... ... show more

Put the OtterBox Defender XT on my Galaxy Z Fold7 and it’s exactly what I wanted—solid protection without killing usability. Hinge protection is well thought out and doesn’t feel loose or gimmicky. Phone feels secure in the case, buttons still work properly, and it opens and closes smoothly. Adds some bulk, but that’s the trade-off for real protection, especially on a foldable. If you actually use your phone and don’t baby it, this case is worth the money. Typical OtterBox quality—tough, well-designed, and dependable. I'm really torn on this one. 4 stars because it does protect the phone from drop damage, but I've had to buy two of these cases within 6 months from breakage when dropped. The hinge just pops off and shatters into pieces, leaving the most delicate part of the phone unprotected. I truly appreciate that my fold is not damaged or shattered, but I also don't want to spend $90 everytime I drop my phone. Does it outweigh the cost of having to replace a damaged phone? Sure. $90 is better than $2k. However, I've never had a phone case break like this when dropped, and I'm really good at dropping things. Having things just fly out of my hands is a daily occurrence for me. Otterbox is my go too for all phones I've purchased because of the durability when dropped...I'm ordering another one- I'm just not happy about it. ... show more

Have had now for about 3 months and can say like this one more than samsung one I brought when I pre-ordered phone. This one is a lot better to me cause has better grip, and the back center section that covers the part that folds keeps it a lot more better covered so no worries about dust or dirt trying get into the folding mechanism on phone. Cost a little but for what phone cost can't complain since does protect it throughly and have had no issues, and as stated before isn't slippery or make you think it will easily slip from your hands, just wish was a few more colors to be honest. ... show more

Love the case and how it feels. But slipped off the couch and hit the floor and the back hinge of the case broke, The hinges now not attached and the back heng of the phone is exposed. For $88 this is not a good fix and should be stronger material, not OtterBox tough!!

I think OtterBox probably nailed this zfold 7 case. I can't see how any of the other cases could offer even close to the protection, the hinge has a special guard that kind of comes off of the hinge a little bit to give it space, the function seems a little prehistoric however - it works. Adds bulk but looks sleek. I might add that it adds the perfect amount of bulk when regarding using it as a slab, without the protective cover it's a little skinny, and honestly it seems as if that was intentional with how it feels with the case on here. Incredible, next they need some sort of liquid glass product that goes with their cases. Selling everything as a package for like 25 more dollars would be a game changer. ... show more
