    • One of the best OtterBox cases I've owned!
The case isn't foggy like people are saying it is. At least not mine. Mine is pretty damn clear and it exceeded my expectations in the clarity that the translucency provides. I am very pleased with this OtterBox. I've owned it for just over a month now and although it does show scratch marks semi easily on the back, it doesn't seem to detract from the overall design. I would say the biggest flaw of this case is that fingerprints and skin oil seem to stick and show to the back of the case quite easily (which I sort of expected from a clear case in the first place). In regards to aesthetics, it really is clear, the only branding OtterBox has chosen to display here is on the side by the power button. Which helps the case compliment your new iPhone's sleek design (which is why we want this case in the first place right?). The durability is on par with their other Symmetry cases. I've owned one for my older iPhone 6 plus and one for my wife's iPhone 6S. Neither of mine have ever broken and have survived several drops remarkably well. However, my wife's case did tear at the point above the power connector on the bottom. That section of the case seems to be the weakest structurally, for obvious reasons (less material to span the gap). But I might chalk that up to her and my 2 year-old daughter being quite rough with the phone itself. Which is why i wouldn't mark any stars off this review. Can't speak to durability of this model (just put it on my phone today). If it's anything like other OtterBox cases I've owned (iPad Air, iPad Pro) my rating for durability is 5. Case is clear, slim and sleek,. Buttons on phone are covered but respond when pushed. Frame and cutout for camera are raised so screen and camera do not touch surfaces when put down. Non slip grip. Tight fit. Doesn't overpower/upstage my Red iPhone 8 Plus. Update: Great protection but scratches easily. Case has been on my phone 5 months and 2 weeks. Case is so badly scratched up it makes my Red iPhone look like a cloudy mess. Update: Great protection but is easily scratched. Case has been on my phone 5 and 1/2 months. I loved this product and I would highly recommend but their is I couple of things I would like to point out. The case is really hard to get on and off. I’ve had it for a couple of months now and it is still difficult to take off. Also, over time the sides begin to discolor but it’s not bad. The case dose scratch but you won’t really notice. Other then those few things, the case is worth your money. It’s great if you plan to put things like pictures and images behind it so really, you could never get bored with your case. Also, it’s not like other Otter Box cases where as they are so big and bulky. This one fits slim and comfortable in your hand but also provides protection from breaking. Ordered the "Stardust" symmetry case. It is transparent, so you can see the beautiful color of my gold iPhone 8 plus through it. The sparkles look so pretty! Fits perfectly and the buttons are sturdy. It definitely feels well-made like all Otterbox cases do. There is a bit of a lip on the front of the case, so your screen gets some extra protection if you lay it face down. Obviously you will want to put a screen protector on it as well. The case is very nice, durable, and makes my phone look great! I was nervous about a clear case because I had never bought one before, but I am so glad I did. I really like this case. I like it enough that when it was time to replace it I bought the same case. To the best of my knowledge it protected my phone from several drops. I had to replace it after about a year as the case started to crack and come apart at the corner but I suspect that it is from the abuse that I put it through. It definitely does discolor over time: the photo I have attached shows on the left my 1 year old case, vs. the new one I just bought on the right. It does scratch, but it is a soft plastic type material so I don't see how it wouldn't scratch. Overall I am satisfied. This is my first Otterbox. The quality is unsurpassed as well as beautiful. The glitter on my red iphone 8 plus is stunning. I am also pleased that a popsocket adheres very well. The only complaint I have is that it was listed as used like new but, it does have about a 1.5" surface scratch on the back. I only paid $11.04 so can live with the scratch as it is not at all deep and not too visible. I just can't get over how sturdy this is for a slim case. I bought this case plus a ZAGG InvisibleShield Glass+ Screen Protector for a really good deal that I couldn’t pass up. Almost the same price that I paid for just the same screen protector a couple of years ago. It replaced a Next Lifeproof case that I liked the looks and the fact that it was waterproof. However I would never buy it again. The silicone bumper around the case slowly peeled away from the case. Two days after I had put my phone in the new case and installed the screen protector I accidentally drove off with it in a paper bag on top of the roof of my car. I found it in the middle of the road with not even a scratch. Lesson learned: Excellent case and screen protector and don’t put your phone on the roof of your car while you use a hand sanitizer. 🥴 ... show more
