This brand and model case has protected the last 7 iPhone models I’ve had. Being especially hard on my phone I am always amazed that they are like in like new condition when I trade my phone in allowing me to get top dollar. I’ve never had a screen or back crack and the case installation is very straight forward. I always had an Otterbox on my iPhone dating back to when I was in college over 15 years ago. Like any college student, I was involved in everything from sports, to college, to classes and in my pocket or in my hand was my iPhone in my Otterbox phone case. Never cracked a single phone or case because the Otterbox was a durable, well made product that saved my phone from many incidents and drops. Fast forward to today and I hate to say that Otterbox puts out a junk product for way too much money. I am a "career man" now with a boring desk job. Yesterday I dropped my phone from about 3 feet in the air. Upon inspecting it, it looked fine but I noticed a small crack on the flashlight (the white circle on the back). I decided to take the case off to, which is super easy to do, and notice that this case did not function as it should. Per Otterbox's description, this case is "rated to 5X military standard drop defenses to survive hard falls." That is not the case, because dropping it from 3 feet can apparently cause devastating damage to the front or back of your iPhone. Avoid this product at all costs, especially for how much they are charging for it!! ... show more

The waterproof feature is great, I have used it to take pictures underwater. The downside is pictures outside the water tend to get streaks in them because of the plastic covering, as far as the screen it is a bit harder to activate the touch along the sides, during phone calls it is difficult to hear callers unless you use speaker, if using Bluetooth it is completely normal. OTTERBOX Fre LifeProof case is perfect! Perfect fit, extremely durable. The design and fit are perfect! The grip is not as slippery as some people make it to be. It is not bulky. It is perfect for the level of protection you want. The price is not bad. By the time you buy a Screen protector, lens protectors and a decent drop case, you have already paid for the OTTERBOX Fre LIFEPROOF case and plus you get an added bonus of the Waterproof feature! I can say it is definitely waterproof because I have tested it with my iPhone 16 Pro Max inside the case and have removed the case which the removal is really easy and my iPhone was completely dry! The drop protection is great! I would rather scratch and ding up the case instead of my iPhone!! Let me also add that the built in screen protector is okay and is not raised at all. Typing is very easy and fluid and it is very responsive! I have had no problems with sliding up from the bottom or from the top down. The only con and complaint I have are the volume buttons are kinda hard to press. It is okay because that lets me know that everything is protected. No calling problems. Everyone can hear me perfectly and I can hear them, unless they are using a car mic where they are away from their microphone then it gets a little muffled. I have no problem in hearing my podcasts or audio from Apple Music, YouTube or any other social media or entertainment service. I highly, highly recommend this case especially if you are a very active person or like me, just want the perfect protection for your investment! (Edit)… I would also like to add the camera lenses are well protected as well! Does not affect photos or videos and the camera button is also protected with good access to the camera button and the button is very responsive! A solid investment to protect your investment!! Let me add this… The buttons get easier to press after some use. I recommend taking the case off every once in a while and working with the buttons to help break them in and also, I found that when putting the case on start from the top and work down the sides then snap the bottom. Sometimes if you start from the bottom it seems to not snap in correctly and leaves a gap along the bottom edges. When taking the case off, hold the phone screen up above a thick cloth, towel, pillow or something soft maybe a couch cushion will work then press gently in the center (middle) of the screen and protector until the phone releases to prevent tearing or breaking the screen protector from the edges. ... show more

- Reasonable priced for name brand otter box. You can get same quality cases for around $25 on amazon or eBay. - not many colors to choose from - echos/muffles/mutes some conversations (common with enclosed cases, but some calls I can hardly hear the other party, we both echo, or it muffles our speech so it’s harder to understand each other clearly) - great durability for drops and weather like rain - great case if you work factory/outdoors/messy environments/manufacturing/automotive/etc - design is nice, but the fre case used to be made and manufactured by a different company before they merged with otterbox and they kept the design of the case but added their name, so this is not a true otterbox case design. - waterproof (tested this in a swimming pool to film my daughter swimming for first time) - very snug fit - will overheat your phone faster (hot days, do not have this in your pants or any other non-breathable pocket/bag. Do not leave in your car in direct sunlight/long periods of time) - resists scratching to device - buttons are hard to press - overall great case if you have the money, but if you’re on a budget, I have used the $20-30 cases on Amazon with the same phone protection this one offers, you can go with either case, cheap or expensive and you’ll have the same quality you’d want and expect. ... show more
