I never had a problem with the phone case itself, the only issue I had was with the Holster catching on something and snapping an ear off rendering it useless. I can’t recommend the OtterBox enough. My phone fell off my car at 75mph—into the carpool lane—and not only did it survive, but it’s still fully functional. The only “damage” is a some cracks on one corner, which is honestly nothing considering the abuse it just took. If you’re clumsy or just want a case that can survive almost anything, this is it. UPDATE - This case lasted about 9 months before the tempered-glass screen protector cracked. There is general wear and tear to the case. I needed to remove the case about once per week to clean any dirt and debris, especially near the speaker and microphone. This case is good for protecting against dropping and general wear and tear. I would give it 5 stars if it protected better against dirt. ORIGINAL - Due to the nature of my jobs, I need a strong and durable case to protect my phone, and my go-to has always been the Otterbox Defender. I also use tempered-glass screen protectors on my phone. When I used to have the iPhone 11 Pro Max, the phone was about 2 mm below the top of the case, even after installing the tempered-glass screen protector. After upgrading to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, I bought the same brand of tempered-glass screen protector, and the Otterbox Defender case. This version of the Defender is not the same as previous versions of the Defender. This new one definitely feels lighter and made of thinner material. Also, after installing the screen protector, the phone is at the same level as the top of the case, which makes me nervous about how well the case will actually protect the phone. I will update this review sometime in the future with how well the case protected my phone. ... show more
