I like the way this apple slicer is made. The handles where you press down on is very comfortable. It is very sharp and slices through an apple with no issues. Some reviews mentioned that it doesn't cut all the way through the bottom of the apple, well, it does for the most part. Very little doesn't get cut...not an issue for me. I like that it is a 12-blade, so the slices are thinner.

Yes, it takes a lot of force to push it through, maybe half of my 150 lb weight. But it saves a lot of time, because you can put these slices directly in pie, they don't need to be split again by hand, like the 8 segment ones do. I don't use it on very large apples, that might just be too difficult.

The diameter of the hole in the middle for the core could be a little bigger. On larger apples, no matter how well I line up, I keep skimming seeds. Otherwise, it is a decent, sturdy, useful product. Bummer to clean, though.
