  • This back is waterproof and light
Color: Shadow Grey
This backpack is my favorite ever. Not only is it waterproof on the outside. I put my wet bathing suit in the front pocket and it didn’t get the inside items wet. I just used it everyday for a week. I would highly recommend

  • Great size and quality for the money
Color: Shadow Grey
It is amazing how lightweight the material is, but at the same time, being very resilient. I haven't adequately tested the waterproofness, but it seems like it would be fine. The packed up size is extremely small, and can easily go anywhere as a day pack. If traveling with children, it can double as a good small travel diaper bag. It adds essentially no additional weight to what you are trying the carry. The straps spread the load out nicely, and you can't really tell it's on your back unless you are carrying heavy stuff in it and even then, it remains comfortable despite not having padded straps. I plan to use mine when flying air travel to a destination where I want to hike in the mountains but don't want to take my large carry-on size bag on the hike. I've gotten into one-bag travel recently, and it is typically recommended you utilize a packable daypack like this for daily use once you get where you are going. It is also ideal for trips to theme parks like Six Flags or Disney. You can keep it stuffed away and in a pocket until you need it. I.E. when you buy the season pass cup(s) or any souvenirs you don't want to hold all day long as you walk around the parks. ... show more

  • Great packable daypack for traveling
Color: Shadow Grey
I used this backpack during a recent 3 week trip to Costa Rica which involved lots of hiking in rainy weather and very humid conditions. I found the pack to be really well constructed and comfortable during our 4-5hr day hikes even while carrying around 10-15lbs. The pack did keep things dry even in some heavy down pours but it’s not a submersible bag. The two side pockets are very stretchy and easily fit two 32oz water bottles. My only wish is that they had included an attachment point inside for a water bladder and some water resistant way to get the drinking hose out (instead of through the roll-top closure). I was pleasantly surprised by this bag and considering how easy it is to pack it will definitely come along on more trips. ... show more

  • Quality
Color: Shadow Grey
It’s Osprey. Quality backed by one of the best guarantees out there. I bought this to put in my 45L Archeon for use as a day pack when I leave camp. Lightweight, water resistant, packs small, and isn’t short on features. If your looking for those attributes stop looking and buy it!

  • Waterproof and compact folding
Color: Shadow Grey
We used this during a recent trip and the bag is waterproof. Was in a down pour for over an hour and my fleece was not even damp. The roll top takes a little practice but after a few times it is not a problem. Great product

  • Great backpack, grey color not as described
Color: Shadow Grey
Great product that the person(s) who designed it actually used it. Grey is not grey though. It is a greenish grey, army green than a grey. Straps are dark green.

  • Tore on first use
Color: Shadow Grey
Very very weak construction. Clearly not intended to hold anything more than small, soft, lite items.

  • Very small pouch; decent-sized backpack
Color: Shadow Grey
I was a little surprised to see how small the pouch was on this backpack. I wondered how well I would be able to fit it back into something so small, especially as it was kind of a challenge to take it out in the first place (it was stuffed about as tight as one could possibly stuff something). I have another similar-sized portable backpack with hideaway pouch from Eddie Bauer, and that pouch is about twice the size of this one. The Eddie Bauer one has somewhat thicker material, but was easier to take out and put back together than this Osprey backpack. I would say that it's still do-able, but I personally would have preferred a bigger pouch. Not only would that leave more space to store things when in backpack mode, it would make this backpack easier to fold, flatten, and pack more neatly. As far as features, the backpack has two zipper pockets (one inner and one outer), and two side pockets made of mesh. Both side pockets have compression straps. There are several sets of buckles - one on the top (so you could roll and clip it like a dry bag), and two on the sides (in case you prefer not to enclose the top like a dry bag, you can clip each side of the buckle to these side buckles. There is also an adjustable sternum strap with buckle (the sternum strap buckle is also a whistle). For the most part, these buckles do add some weight to the backpack. However, this thing is so light, it probably doesn't matter. As far as the material, I would say that it's the same or very similar to a dry bag (though this does not seem to be as airtight - you can't use it like a pillow like you can a dry bag... I've tried). As can be seen in the pictures, the bag is quite wrinkly - even after sitting out for weeks, the backpack is still quite wrinkly. Some people may have issues with this, but I suspect most people who want backpacks like this really will not care. Overall, I do think this is a well thought-out backpack. I might have pinpointed a few features I was critical of, but if you think my criticisms are too nitpicky and inconsequential, you probably would really like this bag. It's probably a great addition for anyone who is going out on a trip and needs to either save space or bring a spare bag just in case. ... show more
