The cover support is kind of cheep and flimsy. We have not had any wind or rain so I can not confirm that it will or will not handle any type of storm situation. For the price of the cover support it is made mostly out of plastic. The weight to hold the pole in place is a rubber bag that you fill 3/4 full of water.
