On my most recent trip, I decided to upgrade my old, worn-out bag to this Osprey Mountain Bound Roller. I’ve heard great things about Osprey products, and after using this one on a few trips, I can confidently say this bag was worth every penny. When I first unpacked the Mountain Bound Roller, its high-quality construction was obvious. The NanoTough™ fabric feels heavy-duty, highly durable and has a nice water-resistant finish, which was a huge plus for me, given the unpredictable weather in many of the places I visit. The bag’s oversized wheels are a huge plus – they roll effortlessly over airport floors, snowbanks, and even through parking lots, making a massive difference when you're dragging a hefty load of gear. The sturdy chassis keeps everything balanced, and the reinforced grab handles are a thoughtful touch, ensuring you can maneuver the bag without much strain, even with gloves on. As for packing, this bag does not disappoint. It easily holds my skis, poles, boots, gloves, and even my jacket, with room to spare. I especially love the adjustable compression straps - they keep my gear snug and secure. I can fit two pairs of skis, or one snowboard, plus all my other essentials without any trouble. The interior padding gives me peace of mind, knowing my skis are protected from any rough handling during flights or road trips. I’ve also used it for a trip with multiple sets of skis, and the bag held up perfectly, showing no signs of wear despite the heavy load. The only issue I’ve encountered with the Mountain Bound Roller is the external compression straps. The clips used to secure the straps are sturdy, but they can be a bit fiddly to release. You have to ensure the straps are in the right position to unclip them, which can be a challenge when you're in a hurry. Osprey does an amazing job designing and making bags. We have a number by them and were looking for a way to carry our ski gear and protect it. This bag is as well designed as all their other bags we own. The height adjustability is unique. The straps can be hooked into multiple latch points on the front, and the strap length can be adjusted in the outside pocket (which is also convenient for storing a few small tools or backup gloves. This bag is massive. It easily fits 2 pairs of adult skis (I'm sure it would fit at least one snowboard but we aren't boarders so we can't test that). There's plenty of extra room for snowpants, extra socks, gloves, hat, etc. In fact, I even fit in there! Although boots and helmet would fit in there, I'll continue to keep them in their separate bag... Because this sucker is heavy! Due to its sturdiness, this bag adds significant weight to our gear. Even though it's on wheels (which roll wonderfully), when I need to lift it, I need some of my gear's weight distributed elsewhere. The main drawback with this bag is the straps. It took me at least 5 minutes to get the first buckle unhooked. Not because I didn't know how the mechanism worked, but because the tolerance of the buckle is so tight! You have to have things at just the right angle to unhook it. The positive side of this is it *definitely* won't come undone in transit. I'm not sure I'd be comfortable checking a soft sided ski bag like this, but for road trips or local skiing, this can be a convenient way to haul all your gear without having to burden your shoulders!

A must have for any winter ski trip when you need to get on a plane and travel somewhere. This fits one set of skis and one set of snowboard with padded sidewalls and internal/external compression straps that keep gear secure. Extremely durable and water-resistant. My gear did not get wet even under heavy snowfall. Large wheels so easy to maneuver and pull around driveways and curbs. Plenty of room for boots and thick outerwear. My old snowboard roller bag lasted me 10 years and countless number of snow trips. This one will likely last me another 10 years. Highly recommend getting one if you are headed to the ski slopes. As for storage after the snow season, the bag can be folded and stored away compactly. Another plus!

TLDR: Very large bag made to be durable for travel! The blue colors of this bag are really really beautiful and the material is super nice. This is pretty expensive but you are honestly paying for great quality that should last you a long, long time! This bag will be large enough for most skis, as it really is absolutely huge. Maybe too big for small skis like kids skis unless you are bringing more than one pair. The funny thing is we plan to use this for other things while traveling, such as to carry a few items for camping or other trips. I am not sure what will fit best since it is such a long bag, but it’s so nice I want to make it work for more things! The straps for compression inside are nice, and the entire bag closes so well it’s almost hard to get into but that’s great so you don’t lose anything. I love that you can also fold this down so that you can store it better or use it for less things. The wheels are sturdy, as is the whole bag. It does get heavy but that is expected. Really nice bag that I feel is definitely worth the buy!

I really want to love this! I love Osprey. Great quality materials all the time. The height is adjustable so for my petite height, I can make this short up to about 58in height just enough to fit my body 146cm snowboard. Material is soft but durable and well padded. BUT… I cannot lock the bag for air travel 😭 The zippers move in opposite direction and so you cannot close them by putting them together. I want to use this for air travel but now I can’t. Very frustrating and disappointing. And the hooks, they are sooooo hard to get in and out. Osprey bags tend to be very well designed but I don’t think they thought this one through. A lot of design flaws. I wish I could love it more.

I brought two sets of skis and poles to the mountains in this bag. The padding protected everything through the airlines. It has oversized wheels that cruised through snow and over curbs without getting stuck. The straps kept the gear from rattling around. Water did not get in at all. This bag is also effortless to lift, even with gloves on, without feeling clunky. Tons of pockets to store all your belongings. This product felt solid and well designed, not something I would expect to need replacing for quite some time. I was able to pack a friend's skis and my own in the bag with room for boots and outerwear. Lots of winter trips ahead, but I wouldn't be looking for another bag.

I see Osprey as like the Toyota of bags--nothing ever super flashy but you know it's going to last forever as long as you take reasonable care of it. This ski bag is no exception. It is great quality and has everything you need to transport your skis (and then some!) comfortably and safely. It is on the larger side, so make sure you're aware of the dimensions. The interior tie downs are great to keep your skis from rattling around inside the bag. The bag can be compressed both horizontally and vertically to keep things snug inside, which prevents any gear from being damaged. The padding is good, and the material and quality is excellent--this bag is going to last a long while. I'm super happy with it and you can never go wrong with Osprey. The color looks quite nice, too!
